Just a heads up - I hope this thread has been helpful; it certainly has been fun and educational. However, it may have run its course if there is no more back and forth, even "vapid" chat. What's a post count party, you ask? Well, the precise definition depends on what corner of the internet you scour for an explanation, but basically, it's an opportunity to make lots of posts, possibly content free, without judgment, in order to get your post count up.

Eh, I personally have no problem with any of it. (How could I? I started this thread!) But, the posting guidelines do say:

Do not post simple one liners such as "Agreed!" or "Yeah!" or otherwise low content posts for the purpose of creating more posts and increasing your post count.

So it was rather naughty of me to start this thread in the first place. Not that I mind being naughty occasionally. But still.

Ack, no good deed goes unpunished, does it? I just wanted to be nice by starting this thread to give a (get your barf bag out, woo-filled jargon coming up) "safe space" for post count embiggening. And then, because it really does kind of flout the guidelines and it has already served a useful perpose and the conversation had withered, I thought maybe it was time to put the thread to bed.

But we're all, like, cool and transparent here, so I thought I'd give some warning of the fact that the thread might not last forever, and talk to the rest of the mods about it.

That's all. You can all have a debate in the "forum information" subforum about the philosophical implications with regard to other threads, if you like. Or take it to the cage, for that matter. (VanH will be able to come along soon enough, I'm sure.) As for me, I think I'll just head off to my fainting couch for now, if you don't mind.
