My memory is a little hazy.

Didn't he actually buy the white powder thinking they were drugs and was incredibly lucky that they turned out to be fake? If so, am I supposed to have sympathy for him?

I think this might be the real reason he hasn't sold his story to the press.

My concern as well. I don't have a clear understanding of whether it was an attempted shake-down, and he never bought "drugs" in the first place, or whether he just got lucky because the stuff he bought was fake.

Or maybe a 'friend', since in his country it is illegal to profit from the proceeds of a crime, and attempting to buy drugs is a crime. Even if they are fake.
