The old adage of not talking politics or religion over a few beers/drinks should apply to this forum.

Reference the new US Administration, this forum is starting to sound like those pointless panel discussions they have on CNN.

My names is Bill. I am a political junkie. It has been 5 minutes since I posted a political comment.

Interesting... You're not the first one I heard this from in the last 24 hours! Considering the current news, it's not surprise there is so much political talk going on.

Our policy is that we won't shut down political talk on this forum so politic junkies can carry on.

What I'd suggest though is to start new conversation topics on different issues. Doesn't have to be serious either, just to bring some variety.

Got any idea Minuteman?

When you find one, post a new thread and we can play a little game too: see how many posts we can go on before politics and/or religion is brought up

Wow, I know just how you feel. I hate discussions on e-cigs and where you can find cheap booze but I learned a long time ago that if it's something I don't want to contribute to nor am I interested in reading about, I IGNORE IT AND MOVE ON.

And I actually enjoy my addiction and don't plan to stop. Sorry you find the discussion/debate tiring, uninteresting; can I suggest the Home and Garden channel as an alternative?

(For those who do not recognize my initial comment as parody, it is a take off on the classic introduction of new members at Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.)

I agree with you, when in a place fill with drunk people we should not talk about politic as it may lead to violence.

Yeah, I caught that.

Either you have a good memory or you enjoy reading my posts...or both.

This thread is getting boring...can we please get back to politics, religion, booze, drugs, sex....anything....:tinfoil3:...:hand:

If you wish to empty your stomach, visualize Trump having sex.

Great new diet!

On a more serious note, I'm appreciative of how often we have current event and political threads. I tend to participate fleetingly in them myself, because I feel that I'm always playing catch-up in terms of having enough command of the facts to post intelligently. But I love reading what people have to say.

And there is nothing to stop people from posting lighter threads (or equally serious threads on non-political topics), so I don't see all the political threads as a drawback. If people are driven away from joining the forum because they see discussion of the real world, are we really losing a lot of value when they don't join? Surely we want to attract the kind of poster who can at least tolerate discussion of current affairs, even if it isn't their personal top priority for an on-line community.

You could always post pro-Trump comments; for those, no command of the facts seems to be required.

Let's talk Canadian Politics and get snoozy real quick:
I thought that once Young Trudeau got elected the Liberal party machine would keep him there "untouchable" while the wheels turned. Holey Doley he's got himself diminished pretty quick from what I'm gathering.
