Hi there,
hope your reading this in good health, i have back pain and many doctors have suggested me to learn swimming. I have avoided swimming due to water fear and the unpleasant chemicals mix in water to kill becteria and viruses without much know how. Whenever i went to pool i had bad few hours due to poor mixing of chemicals in water so i stayed away till now but more than sports i wan to learn and use pool for therapy and pain reducing tool.
Please suggest only the best quality swimming pools where preferably they use slightly warm water with good water quality and its not over crowded. South jakarta and tangerang are easily accessable areas for me.
many thanks!

I have no personal experience with places to recommend. Pool chemicals never bothered me and I don't recreational swim. It sounds like a salt water pool is what you are looking for if the chlorine bothers you. A quick google search comes up with a few results, but because I don't have experience with them, I am not going to recommend any particular one.

Doesn't have Kemang Village one of those? If it doesn't have to be salt water, my wife enjoys the pool of the hotel Intercontinental in MidPlaza. Not busy and rather big. Subscription is combined with gym.

Jstar thanks for responding, what is the fee we are looking at here for monthly or quarterly membership?

For a yearly membership she paid approx. 8.5 million. I don't know if short periods are possible. But (here we go again), prices are negotiable! Since we don't stay very long periods anymore, we are using the swimming pools and fitness rooms now of two apartment complexes where we invested. And even if not olympic size, the pools are large enough.

Meadow Terrace Club House at The Green in BSD City, Tangerang Selatan, has a nice Olympic sized pool:

It's outdoor so it's usually quite warm, although with the rain these days it might be a bit chill.

The water is not deep so you won't have trouble standing up at any end.

There is also a sauna which might help for your back pains afterwards.

Regarding the price, I don't know, you will have to come and ask.

El goretto thanks for responding, this is the only pool i used and draw the conclusion that i need to find a healthier one, it might look pretty but water quality is so poor that i wander how people tolerate, the gym & sauna are poorly maintained as well, this complex should have been top notch option but with almost zero supervision of the state of things it is well below average. Its quite cheap, for 375.000 a month u can use gym+sauna+swimming pool.

How you ask..... simply there is not that much choice and if there is it is nightmare to get there just for 1-2 hour swim. As for poor maintenance I agree.... it seems to be somehow "a standard". But as you also mentioned you are compensated with lower price. I pay 266 000 per month, small pool but not crowded, gym, sauna (I never used - as my home feels like sauna every day), tennis courts and badminton courts and the last is whirlpool with warm water.

I personally feel the same as you (about quality) but on the other hand I am also rewarded with nice palm trees, views + the water temp. is just right. It is not always a paradise here in Indonesia as some swimming pool's water is changing colour to green.

As for the back pain if you have home here in Indonesia and you plan to stay for longer time it would be nice to invest in hydro massage tub. Who knows maybe you can fill it up with salt water. The other option would be to go to some place on sea side and swim there. You should never save money on health.

Thanks small world for responding, actually not compromising on health is the point i dont want to put my body in poor quality water which can be home to potentially toxic chemicals if not mixed properly. I had hydrotherapy and it helped me alot but this alibaba tub is too small for swimming, hydrotherapy needs movement in pool also and i have been to one in kemang. Once u learn the exercises from hydrotherapy sessions dr advice u to enter pool for doing it on ur own plus add swimming.
I can pay more than that just for swimming pool given the quality of water is not compromised.

I used to swim at The Wave, near PIM3, but that place can be crowded during the weekends. There is another pool behind CITOS.

how about yoga? some people in my yoga class complaint about back pain and yoga helps them. Long time to actually feel the result, but it slowly improves the back.

Felicity im following dr advice to learn swimming, not sure what yoga can do, never tried it as such.

My wife also has a back pain. Unfortunately she doesn't really like swimming. Therefore, she does yoga and pilates. Both seems to be giving her positive effects.
