The government, via the Ministry of Transportation, is banning all public air, sea, and land travel, as well as inter-city private transportation during the 2021 Lebaran travel period. Exemptions are available for urgent travel but will require additional paperwork (permission from Lurah/Kepala Desa, proof of negative PCR/antigen, etc).

This is going to be an interesting Lebaran. A lot of people will see this as an infringement on their personal and religious freedom.

I'm actually wondering about my own travel between Bandung and Subang. I mean, it is doubtful someone is going to think this pale dude is doing a "pulang kampung", but that might not be enough to save me from the massive inconvenience of having to travel when the police are sleeping.

Guess it is time to follow the time honored tradition of producing papers in my company's name, granting me permission to transport my self in order to fulfill my urgent needs, stamped by my stamp, signed by my hand and presented by myself. Really goes to ensure that everything is on the up and up...

Unless this actually turns out to be more meaningful than your average documents for the transportation of goods, which it looks like it miiiiiiight be.

Air travel might be affected. Even if officially they can still fly for urgent travel, the airlines may not have enough passengers and may cancel flights. Best check with your airline.
