I just got married and KUA gave us the marriage book. I would like to simplify things and get a single-page marriage certificate that I can simply translate and put an apostille in order to register the marriage in Europe. Is there such a thing if you are Muslim? There should be or is my logic wrong? BTW is there such a thing as international certificates in Indonesia?

I think it would be easier to have a one-page certificate with basic information relevant to the marriage because it is gonna be hard to register a marriage in a secular country if I use the nikah book. My friends had issues and just decided to get married again in EU.

I did a Marriage Report in Catatan Sipil in Jakarta, one page document similar to marriage certificate, after getting the marriage book. Regulations allow this, but as I have heard, it is not possible anymore.

I thought the KUA copies the marriage certificate from Catatan Sipil into the marriage book? There must be a marriage certificate ... on top of that there must be an e-certificate ... and the Indonesian text is already translated to English at the bottom.

What I did for now is:
  • go to KUA, they copied the book, page by page, to an A4 sheet, both sides. After that, they put a stamp on it to do a 'legalisi'.
  • next it to go to kemenkumham to put some legalisi sticker,
  • After that, I have to put an apostille on that paper in
Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Still, having a marriage certificate where it states you are entering the marriage as a virgin is useless information and it will be fun to see the reaction in EU when I try to submit the marriage certificate.

I registered my marriage with the UK embassy and got a one page certified letter from them. Had to pay though

If you marry in Indonesia via muslim ceremony, you get a marriage books. These books are final as they are signed by a government official. Law does not prohibit to report additionally your marriage in Catatan Sipil, which I did, where you get a Surat Ketrangan (Certificate) on one page. However, they do not allow it anymore for muslim marriages.

Out of curiosity... what happens if you are not a virgin? Is it still an option to do a KUA marriage or do you need to convert then get a Catatan Sipil one?

Hi, I am trying to register my marriage in Europe. The local municipality says that they can not accept the booku nikah. They are insisting on some kind of statement or certificate from the KUA. Is there such a paper? Is there some kind of single-page statement from the KUA that I can get as proof that I am married? My booku nikah has an apostille but that does not help.

We translated the buku nikah to English. In the Netherlands with this we registered our marriage. No problem.

Strange that your buku nikah is not accepted? It is a formal marriage certificate.

Not in fkn Bosnia. It has to ba an original document.
Then, my advice is to go to Catatan Sipil and try to get a marriage certificate like Centurion did. With some "persuasion" it might be possible to get one.
