Kitas - changing employer

Having a kitas sponsored by a company (still valid for 3 months) and wish to change employer. I presume that the new kitas to be sponsored by the new employer, can be applied for parallel to one keeps working for the present employer and on the present kitas. But can a new kitas be approved before cancellation of the present? What is the timing in such process? I believe the expat still needs to leave Indonesia to get his VITAS, but before he does so, should the present kitas then be cancelled?

I believe that a new KITAS can NOT be approved before the cancellation of the present one, but I don't believe that it is a problem to start the procedure in parallel.

Before the VITAS being issued, the present KITAS must be cancelled.

Correct me if I am wring, but it is my impression that when VITAS is issued, one is 98% sure that it will turn into a Kitas.

Is it not obtaining the VITAS that takes the longest in the complete process?
