Hi all,
My wife is planning a trip to JB next month. She is an Indonesian citizen. Is it allowed for her to get a VOA in Singapore then go on to JB for a day trip?

I would imagine that she could, but need some facts to avoid disappointments during the trip.

It used to be that if you went across the Causeway to JB you simply got a visa at the crossover. And coming back you got a similar visa for Singapore. Nice and simple but perhaps it has become more complicated now. I am not sure that the same simple process was allowed for Indonesians as there were a lot of "illegal" Indonesians and Malaysians working in the construction industry.

As Indonesian citizen both Singapore and Malaysia are visa free. No issue whatsoever.

There’s quite a good bus connection btw.

There is a long queue at the border, especially when returning to Singapore, plus they do additional checks on Indonesians which involves being taken into a room inside. Took us over an hour to get through this process going to JHB (we didn't try it the other way, since it's easier to get the JHB-CGK flight back).
