Is this the new normal?

Or, add an R because of fat fingers or put the fingers on a diet. Complete us correct and yes, I should have said NO.
Just for you so you don't lose any sleep, I edited it.
Be gone now.

How about circumsision? Is this Male Genital Mutiliation (MGM)?
Politically - No
Circumcision is common in the US and an essential for Jews so it never gets mentioned.
If it was a purely Muslim thing - It would be MGM.
Puberty blockers for male children in the hope they will become girls are child abuse, but not if you're a radical on the left of reality.

Practicality aside it's also for hygiene reasons

Or so you can say "at least I'm not a complete prick"

I the US it isn't related to religion in the majority of cases. More like just an excepted custom right after birth. Many parents are starting to decline the procedure now for many reasons.

So why male circumsicion in not male genital mutiliation but female is? I suppose also done from "hygyenic reasons"? Both procedures done without approval of the end user.

There is a tenuous hygiene link with male circumcision but good hygiene can be maintained without circumcision. Female genital mutilation has often been to do with male control with the worst being cutting of the clitoris. But notions of what it necessary to be a "woman" is often cultural so young women prefer to undergo the procedure for that reason. When living in Kenya I recall a report of an area where local tribesmen went around singing circumcision songs and if they encountered any uncircumcised male they would fix them up on the spot. Ouch!

Ouch! Singing circumcision songs, don't they have anything better to do? From what I've seen on television, they are way too overpopulated, maybe they should promote contraception instead? If this is culture, then it's time to break the traditions and start fresh! I prefer my culture in yogurt, cheese, probiotics, sauerkraut, and alcoholic beverages!

I found social media alarming in general. Especially when I witnessed firsthand a friend of mine (who is a regular user of Tiktok) became anxious of the women vs transgender confrontation in US when nobody where we live don't even think this way or have this problem. But! two weeks later we had women vs transgender confrontation (a clash in a cafe) in our country as well. It's like social media was spreading other countries' issues to places that had none. My friend then went, "See? We also have this problem." I said, "What are the chances they were provoked by the same stuff you were watching?"

That said, sexual freedom is a great thing because it lessens gender stereotypes and gendered mindset but educators/influencers probably should refrain from encouraging from actual gender reassignment because that's an entirely different ball game.

Hah, this is getting funnier by the post! Calling changing your natural born body into something else and calling it gender reassignment sounds like a class at school! If someone wants to cut parts off or add parts on, that's their business, and take hormones to enhance the change to the new form is fecking weird! There is no rule that says anyone has to approve or not! Don't shove your woke mentality down other peoples throats! Calling a single person them or they is weird! Them or they means a group of some kind as in more than one, meaning plural!

It seems to me notable that there is a trend in TV series in particular and often with drama or film that where homosexuals or others of alternative sexualities are presented the bias is towards showing what lovely and beautiful people they all are. A recent health report in Australia has shown high levels of mental ill health and adjustment problems with alternative sexual lifestyles indicating that all is not lovely and beautiful in the "gay" world where there is also an ample number of maladjusted and disagreeable characters. They are not all fabulous although it seems to be at the centre of what is almost a public relations campaign to promote gay lifestyles. It is great that there has been a massive shift away from the hostility and often violence against anything other than straight heterosexuality. But the push, even within the educational systems, to offer to young people the notion that choosing homosexuality or becoming transgender might be a perfectly normal personal lifestyle choice is a step too far.

By 'end user'?
I my opinion, FGM is always wrong, but male genital mutilation is sometimes. It's also unnecessary in the vast majority of cases - That's religion for you

Your right Harryopal, you putting way it to lightly! I think this should not be a subject in schools unless the kids are in a sex education class later on in high school with the parents permission! This subject has no business being presented as normal! As you see, this new modern world has benefits but also huge downfalls, I can only hope my Grandkids are not having this crap told to them.

This a subject that is wrong no matter how it's presented. If there is some form of medical necessity I could see it necessary, but only then. What kind of God promotes cutting parts off? People are really screwed up in the head over religious beliefs! Have you seen people performing self flagellation!

Most of the main stream religion's holy books state that humans are born perfect and no changes should take place. These same religions then want to turn around and whack a piece off. Making their members basically unacceptable to their god.

I thought the concern is that they're being normalised to the young 'uns though. People my age are less likely to be impulsive about physical mutilation in general because we know that our mindset changes as we go through life so we try not to damage our 'physical container'.

Gender reassignment is the PC term ;)

I find Indonesian 'dia' is a good gender -neutral pronoun and sadly there's no English equivalent.

Perhaps a new word. "Heshe"? Pronounced Heesh.

I think that was bounced around by some in the 'non-binary' communities before they settled on 'they'. I don't mind if they directly adopt a foreign word, 'dia', close enough phonetically to 'they' or 'dear' but I'm no spokesperson in these communities.

The original intention, I think (I hope), in schools that the kids should be free to be who they are. Things like when boys cry, they don't get told 'boys don't cry' or when girls play with a fire truck, it doesn't get traded with a Barbie or pink toys. Some teachers might've gotten carried away. Of a more concern, I think, is the reduced parental guidance at home with both parents working and government policies that allows for flexible working arrangement have not caught up.

In some corners of social media, if/when the algorithm finds you, the culture might've been touted as 'trendy' or 'fashionable'. It places that person in an information bubble that sends more video like the one they've clicked before, further reinforcing their bubble that such things are going on everywhere and that everyone thinks that way. It took 3 days of searching and clicking other contents before TikTok stopped sending her content about transgenders vs women.
