Police in the province of West Java had been investigating Habib Rizieq over allegations that he made defamatory comments in 2014 about one of Indonesia's founding fathers, Sukarno, and questioned the legitimacy of the state ideology Pancasila.

The FPI leader has denied wrongdoing and a spokesman for the group pledged to fight the case "until the last drop of our blood".

FPI spokesman Slamet Maarif said the allegations were being engineered by authorities to "silence Muslims demanding justice".

The police and others are really boxing this guy into a corner...I'd think he's losing support by the second. As those nutties see him in trouble hopefully they'll get a message and retire to fight another cause. From Jakarta Globe....

West Java Police have ordered the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front, or FPI, Habib Rizieq Shihab not to bring along his supporters to their headquarters the next time he is brought in for questioning after he was charged with insulting the state ideology Pancasila.
"He [Rizieq] should come only with his lawyer. Please leave your supporters at home, Habib," West Java Police spokesman Chief Comr. Yusri Yunus told Beritasatu News Channel.
"But if he decides to bring them along, we will be ready," he added.
Yusri said Rizieq has been charged with allegedly insulting the official state ideology Pancasila during a speech in 2011 when he said "[former President] Sukarno's [version of] Pancasila puts God on his bottom."
The police report against Rizieq was filed by Sukmawati Sukarnoputri, one of Sukarno's daughters, on Oct. 27 last year.
Rizieq is also accused of having defamed Sukarno and mocking a decision by the country's secular and religious leaders to drop the so-called Jakarta Charter, which before Indonesia's independence sought to include in Pancasila an obligation for Muslims to follow Islamic law.
He is facing articles 154a and 320 of the Criminal Law, which regulates on insults to state symbols and defamation.
This is just one of several criminal cases Rizieq currently faces.
He is also under investigation for allegedly illegally occupying state land in Megamendung, a subdistrict of Bogor, West Java. The cleric is further implicated in an alleged plot against the government in December last year.
He is also facing a series of lawsuits brought against him by various groups.

Don't underestimate the power of the stupid.

Getting better....or maybe worse...Jakarta Globe...

A group of students calling themselves the Alliance of Antipornography Students has reported to the police a series of photos and videos featuring intimate exchanges allegedly between firebrand cleric Habib Rizieq Shihab — also the leader of hardline Muslim group Islamic Defenders Front — and a woman called Firza Husein.
"We have reported the pornographic photos and videos which allegedly show Rizieq with a woman called Firza. We regret that they've gone viral. The consequence could be fatal, it may incite chaos in this country," the group’s representative Jefri Azhar said in Jakarta on Monday (30/01).
The group demanded that the police investigate whether the photos and videos were real or faked, and whether the WhatsApp chat between Rizieq and Firza actually happened.
"As far as we know, there is no proof that the man in the WA [WhatsApp] chat was the real Rizieq. A website uploads the pornographic photos and videos and screen shots of the chat and now they've gone viral," he added.
"We submitted a CD and several print-outs of the photos. The police should investigate and find out who uploaded them on the site," Jefri said.

The pictures of Firza are in no way edited. Yeah, I checked them closely and I have some experience in this stuff you know. There are tell tale signs even in the best edits, especially when you want to do things like put someone's head on a different body. The line is always the chin and that can be easily done. The hair is another story. Most edits have to leave off strand and while you can find where they start, they go nowhere. The other most telltale sign is coloring from face through neck and neck onto ah, yeah, those. This is either quite real or the absolute best editing in history. I say it is her. Others that know her say the voice on the phone conversation is for sure hers. The Whatsapp read about made my wife puke.

It would be nice if they could hit the flush button with this guy, and some of these organizations but as with most big pieces of turds they don't always flush that easy.

I think that is a very good description of these people and the difficulty of removing them

All we can hope is that the suspect status for the other charges keep adding up. Hopefully the other leaders get it too for some of the things they are included in being involved in. Removing this one man will not change things. Probably cause more unrest. The top leadership needs to be quieted so the minions have no direction.
