One Gold in badminton... two silvers in weightlifting. That's three more Olympic medals than Myanmar's got.. in their 60 year history of competing in the Olympics.
I heard the gold medalists will each get billions of rupiah as reward... Indonesia is wealthy indeed.
5 billion for gold, 2 billion for silver, 1 billion for bronze. I doubt Indonesia will have to shell out more than 20 billion this Olympics but we'll see. Also as far as a country expenditures go, that is not even a fraction of a drop in a bucket.
If I'm not mistaken, they also get retirement support fund...some 20jt/mth for gold, 15jt for silver and 10jt/bronze.
Unless they suddenly have friendly relatives needing help...the 20jt/mth plus interest from 5 billion, should be plenty.
