Hello,
newbie here. Female, mid 40s (like anyone care. LOL) Jakarta-based though now living in Bekasi, married to an expat though he classified himself as economic refugee. Used to be a member of another forum until an old member came across my FB and advised me to come here instead.

Not an expat nor am I an expert in anything. I do love cooking but not good or confident to have my own youtube cooking channel.
I may not know a lot and am always known to be resourceful.

Cheers.

Hi & welcome to the forum. I have found that food is always a good topic for chats in Indonesia.
What do you like to cook?

Welcome! I'm new-ish here and might know of the other forum - when searching for information it came up too but seems to be a bit inactive recently.

Agreed with Bad_azz that food is always a good topic - hmm do we have a culinary subforum?

I think there are several threads, not so sure about sub-forums.
Here is one that had quite a lot of input.

I seemed to remember your handle from the old forum. Didn't you were called as BA back then?
I cook all sorts of things but please spare me the Indonesian cooking. I'm terrible at that. I used to bake a lot but now i cook mainly Dutch dishes since my hubby and son are Dutch

Yes, I kept the name.

Welkom terug! Still making boerenkool?
Dag Jstar, nee. We maken nu meer snackbar-eten. You can still order those boerenkool stamppot though. Minimum 5 portions. Met gehaktbal ya not rookworst. Good rookworst is a nightmare to get.

Welcome.
I used to live just down the road in Karawang but alas no longer.

Welcome ilovered. As it seem you like cooking, Hopefully when serving eating red meat it is also served with fine red wine.

Not really. We keep our wine for wine and cheese dinner usually. My husband is not really big on steak, he prefers rendang or klapstuk with hutspot (carrot and potato mash). Not really a dish to serve with red wine.
