Interesting. At first glance at the video it seems more like a bee or wasp.

According Mbah Google, I do check you picture too, this creature is a Hummingbird Clearwing moth (Hemaris thysbe), known for its ability to hover and feed on nectar during the day, mimicking the behavior of a hummingbird.

Distinctive Features: It has clear wings with a reddish-brown border, an olive-green or golden thorax, and a burgundy abdomen.
Feeding Mechanism: Instead of a beak, it uses a long, coiled tube called a proboscis to drink nectar from flowers.
Behavior: These moths beat their wings rapidly—up to 70 times per second—allowing them to hover in place while feeding

Living in a remote village 2.5 hours from main tourist area doesn't mean it's always peaceful and quiet. In fact, there are events and ceremonies almost every day, in addition to the three daily Trisandiya mantras/prayers . Actualy I enjoy them, but not the dangdut and karaoke, especially after a few bottles of arak make them feel like they're participating in KDI. However, I've taken that into account by installing quality UPVC windows and doors for the price of a Wuling EV.

Our lush garden attracts many wild birds. However, once again, a turtle dove entered the house, panicked, and crashed through the top window from a height of 6 meters. Unfortunately, this time it didn't survive.

Never had wild birds entering the house because we have insect screens on windows and doors.

Our house has large glass windows and doors. Even though it's in the middle of a rice paddy, we don't have a problem with insects, only occasionally at night. It's not aesthetically pleasing and it's difficult to install insect screens nowadays.

We have screens on all our windows. Only our bedroom has AC in it, but if cooler, my wife loves to have fresh air come in the early morning.

Sometimes we’ll leave the front door open in the morning. We have a security gate at the carport. So far, the worst intruders are the neighborhood cats that like to explore.

Has anyone run into the black centipedes inside their house? Our teen took a shower this afternoon, and 10 minutes later was brushing her hair in front of a big mirror. Only to have a 15-20 cm centipede fall on the floor. Looking online it looks like a Scolopendra.

She thinks it may have come up the drain in her shower. Not sure if it climbed up the wall, or dropped from the ceiling onto her hair.

The bad thing is my daughter was really freaked out about it, but my wife thought she was over reacting and just ignored it.

Turns out this centipede actually escaped into our bedroom. My wife is deadly afraid of snakes, and I’m sure if I found this crawling on me, it would wake everyone up in the house.

Any common sense things to get rid of them from inside the house? I know you need to eliminate food sources.

Plenty in my garden, but not inside the house, including the bathroom because we use a smart drain so small animals will not be able to get through. Here tyoically small, about 5 cm long. For those that are 15-20 cm long, I think the body diameter is more than 5 mm. It should be difficult to get through typical drainage cover. If not, try installing a smart drain cover.

I think most of us would "freak out"finding one of these in our hair while showering. I wonder if your wife would be so stoic had it happened to her. A late American wife was terrified of geckoes. It was if they were vampires about to latch on to her throat. My present step daugher at the age of early 20s was reduced to tears when we went into a bird hide out of Townsille and there was a row of really pretty litte green frogs in the crevice where two walls met. A Thai lady I knew was alost hysterical with fear when it was found that there were leeches in the area. But sorry other than sweeping the centipedes out I can offer no solutions.

The interesting thing is that my daughter felt something on her shoulder, while showering. She thought it was her hair. She had a plastic cap on while showering, and the centipede didn’t fall out until brushing her hair, 10 minutes later. She has dark brown hair, so it might be a bit hard to distinguish.

She’s the only one who saw it, so not 100% sure if her size estimate is exact.

I think my wife is looking to change the drain covers today.

I've never seen millipedes crawling up a ceramic/granite/marble wall or shower pole. I don't think your bathroom wall is made of wood or bamboo.
Are there any holes or gaps and rooting wood in the bathroom ceiling? Millipedes love decaying organic matter.
