... note that Gratilla has only been a member for 2 months.

and

For the record, the forum has just beaten its "most people online" just a few days ago (July 17th, 2018) and traffic keeps growing.

Hmmm. You're welcome.
============================================
Seriously A, I find it difficult to believe that you rate number of "people online" over quality of content. What you have here is a hard core of snowflakes whose knees wobble at "err ... stuff" and who rate sarcasm and rant over serious debate and attempts at clever banter. They believe that an unpleasant unfounded accusation automatically becomes truth. And the Mods are unhelpful, often fanning the flames instead of policing the rules. [That is one of their responsibilities, isn't it.]

The thread you refer to claims that serious debate and quality of content are both decreasing (dieing in that respect). And just look at who chimed in with a list of helpful suggestions. Where were the snowflakes then?

Gratilla, you can be interesting and witty.
You are also often insulting and wear some kind of superiority complex as if it is a cloak.
Me I haven't had time to enter into "debates' with you, mainly because I couldn't care too much about what you have to say.
If that is being a snowflake - fair enough - oooh somebody help me I'm melting - ooops now there is just a puddle on my chair.
Oh perhaps its just piss- ya know , women of a certain age & bladder control when coughing and laughing.

Back to you though as you seem to think life is about you.
You come across as snide and attention seeking, I read through a lot of your posts in the old forum and you sound just the same here.
Maybe I haven't seen all you have written in here- I certainly don't seek out your posts... but when you comment about others' posts not being quality, as if to imply yours are, I'd say you are deluded somewhat in that belief.
A forum is a community and as such it is made up of a mix of people with a mix of personalities.
You seem to want some place where the posts are purely what suits you.
I believe this forum has a mix of posts that cater to everyone's taste across the board.

I actually do not have time to get into this with you as I have a ridiculously hectic schedule & the mods haven't exactly had to do any "policing" in here, I'm sure if you look there is some post somewhere about that.
Probably because we aren't a bunch of kids who just discovered the internet and how to spell troll.

FTR I don't back down from arguments I believe in nor do I run away from bullies who pick fights and get into online name calling because they disagree with others or don't get the attn they want.
So this snowflake says [Damn why isn't this in the cage?] - rhymes with duck dew. :smow::smow:

I'm happy to have discourse. I don't want a debate , as such, as that generally is more about who is right vs simply listening to another's point of view.

What i am not remotely interested in is forum looneys.

Grartilla I think you are confusing debating and trying to start a disagreement .Its impossible to have a debate with a name calling , degrading asshole that says its sarcasm. Snowflake ? Really ?.

So in the words of a old band...The Dead Kennedys... Nazi Punk, Fuck-off. Yours truly

Gratilla, you can be interesting and witty. ...

Thank you. At which point you should have stopped - while you were ahead.

Reasoned response?

Attention seeking: Guilty. I write to be read. I challenge you to find someone who writes to be ignored.

Critical: Guilty. I was taught that (substantiated) critical thinking was an asset. What kind of school did you go to? The "do as you're told, or else" school? "If I want to know what you're thinking, I'll tell you!" school?

Snowflake: The modern meaning is "a person perceived by others to have ... an unwarranted sense of entitlement, or to be over-emotional, easily offended, and unable to deal with opposing opinions." [Wikipedia] Which adequately describes many of the responders here, wouldn't you agree.

Bully: Have to ever heard of a bully apologizing? Of course not. More insidious than a bully, though, is the fenzied mob.

You're welcome.

[Your potty mouth also doesn't help.]

Gratilla, why do you bother posting? You have nothing but disdain for the people, nothing but scorn for what we write, and nothing but contempt for the forum as a whole. And you know you aren't changing anyone's mind about anything. The mod team and posters aren't going to make any changes in response to your commentary.

Arguing with people can be fun, sure. A case in point would be @Davita, with whom I periodically get into a tangle. But the key there is, underneath it all Davita and I kinda like each other, and we're just having fun. You, on the other hand, seem to genuinely hate us all.

Really - what on earth are you doing here?

I totally agree with Puspa's post # 10.
As she said, and I concur, we can all have disagreements and some even wish to disagree within the cage (not me...too much bad language makes me blush).... but what I have read on this thread by Gratilla, and the preceding one, goes beyond civil disagreement.
Seems to me he wants to show intelligence..... but the tone he uses only shows some anger issues somewhere else where, just maybe, he isn't responded to in such an agreeable way as we do on this forum.

I am afraid that Gratilla has no idea of what critical thinking is all about! It is not thinking about how to criticise others as his posts suggest.

Critical thinking is a trait that some people have and others don't. As humans we all have different traits in our make up that guide us in life and work. That's what makes us all different.

For the record a critical thinker is basically a person who is able to analysis issues and come up with solutions or ways forward. If Gratilla had these skills he most certainly would not have started this thread to have the final word.

This thread is only an extension of the last thread and should be also be closed down.

Yes people you ignore but keep them unignored just for the sick gratification of watching what tripe they post hahaha, a bit like FB, we all have those stupid annoying "friends" who post a load of nonsense, but only keep them for the novelty effect - in my case I have an Indo woman friend living in the midwest USA who is sooooo pro Trump I can't delete her because her ridiculous posts about immigration etc just make my mornings

Plus the "show offs" who go quiet or disappear and that's when you work out it's because darling suami has left them and turned off the ATM tap hahaha

What is The Cage?

This forum is for discussion and argument with limited (not nonexistent) moderation.

Specifically, we are relaxing the rules on using profanity, flaming, personal attacks, and junior modding for users while they are in The Cage. As such, moderation will be kept to a minimum,

If there is already a fenced off area for cagers to practice their "skills", why are their "profanity, flaming, personal attacks" leaking out into the main forum? where are the Mods? Ahh, they're cagers too.

< Who let the dogs out, Woof ... woof ... woof, woof ... woof" [Baha Men] >

Atlantis: Are the Mods politely asked to read (and understand) the forum rules before being let loose?

Puspawarna, if you can find an unprovoked example of what you're complaining about, why don't you just moderate it???

And stick a sock in your repeated unsubstantiated insults.
