DON'T PANIC.... well, maybe a little bit.

In addition to that, if prior to your wedding, why come in on a tourist visa when you have the intention to settle here for a longer period. You should've taken the Social Budaya visa, extendable up to 6 months and can change in the country to a KITAS after the wedding. Would've saved you a trip to Singapore.

Oh my bad, you were supporting the aviation industry and all those poor airport/gojek/grab workers that wouldn't have a job without you travelling. You're gods gift to humanity.

Look at that bile spew from within you and turn into words.

Hatred, ignorance, and a lack of overall understanding, what a creature of delight you are.

Edit: I know you are reading this 'Scouser' you sad pathetic wretch. Haha. Fuck me some people are bottom dwellers.

Hmmmm, maybe you get that the wrong way ?
Them back to back visa guys are often the bottom dwellers....
And your language is a clear give away as well.

Cheers. Enjoy your stay.

I forget which prison but I recall seeing a story on one prison in Indonesia where it was so crowded prisoners had to take it turns to be able to lie down.

That would be several jails in Indonesia. Overcrowding is a serious problem in the blocks for the poorest prisoners who can't afford to buy space in the better cells. Most of the low-income inmates are drugs offenders who couldn't afford to bribe their way into lenient rehab sentences. The entire correctional center system here is corrupt to the core and the Justice Minister knows it. I wonder how many of the wealthy inmates at Sukamiskin jail (for corruption felons) in Bandung have paid for extended "medical leave"? Some actually rent nice houses near the jail and just show up for the occasional role-call.

I think that stopped now.

( EDIT: @TupaiHitam - meant the Sukamiskin thing , not the overcrowding , sorry - multitasking)

Some hospitals reported late though. So the time span is somewhat bigger.
Exactly. It is not 11 death in one day. "Just" a recognition that after March 02nd "hospitals were late to report". It's a polite way for the government to save face and admit that they minimize the gravity of the Corona virus problem in Indonesia.

@all,
Please tone down the attacks. No name calling, no personal attacks...etc. I understand that for many the situation is tough and worrying so please be nice to each others and don't force us to over moderate.

On a personal note I have read some statements (fortunately not many) in this thread since its beginning who made me cringe either because they were uninformed or foolish. Each time, I have taken a good breathe and decided not to answer. Some of you guys should try. The situation is gonna worthen as most of us know so energy should be kept and directed at what is worth it rather than to internet flame games.

Thanks.

One day or one week it is a 8% death rate. That is a lot.

Weirdly enough, the government will not release the results of the Ministers tested. It will be left to them to choose to make it public or not.

Now suddenly there are privacy issues?

And I really wonder how the follow-up is with the Dutch trade delegation who joined the royals last week and met those ministers.

The dutch minister of infrastructure is working from home for the next two weeks after finding out minister Budi Karya Sumadi tested positive (and after attending the dutch minister council on Friday). Until now no symptoms so no need to do a test...(policy in Holland).

I believe the actual numbers are far higher, it has been suggested that confirmed cases are 10 - 20 % lower than actual numbers (globally not just Indonesia) if so that makes the death rate a much lower %
Let's hope it is true.

The actual number of carriers is almost certainly MUCH higher since they only test people who are either high-profile (aka ministers) or who are already violently ill. I have heard that they do not even test the spouses of those who are violently ill. That said, I am not sure how the government could realistically do things differently. Jokowi knows how close the country is to the precipice of social unrest - or worse. Going on "lockdown" could have the effect of flooding hospitals, puskesmas, and any other clinics with people who have simple common colds or sinus infections, which could lead to people who desperately need help not getting it. It is an unprecedented (in most of our lifetimes, at least) situation, and as unpleasant as I find the lack of transparency, there is a logic to it.
sidebar: I am kind of looking forward to reading our new friend's commentary about how much of an idiot I am for posting this. ;-)

Not going into lockdown doesn't mean though you should allow gatherings like these....

Amazing.
