DIY - Renew KITAS

Once an agent is involved, unless they want to help free you (usually at a price) it is very hard to accomplish anything without them. However, it would seem that there must be someway to get free but it's probably not quick or easy.
It is kind of amusing to see the agent have more ways to go around then the government themselves.

Moroever, the immigration told me that the sponsor of the new system must be a local and not a foreigner.

The system migrate my wife to be my sponsor and now my sponsor is a non-local and this can cause potential issue also.

Your sponsor is your PMA company, therefore, it's local (entity).

It's almost like there is an agreement to not step on each others toes.

... All these stuffs are driving me crazy. I almost been here for 1 week and still struggling to get things to move.
You need to learn just once , after that Immigration processes become easy .
... the immigration told me that the sponsor of the new system must be a local and not a foreigner.
In my view , this is not a complete explanation . There are some cases where there are no "sponsor" , when the foreigner is "guaranteed" by what they call "Immigration Guarantee" (a foreigner's KITAS or KITAP , a foreigner's investment , ...) .

(2) The application ... shall be submitted by filling in the data and attaching the following :

Your wife being your sponsor is for sure wrong (but not exactly for the reason they gave) .

In my view , her "Immigration Guarantee" is :
a) your KITAS (which in practice , her Immigration processes should be (probably) requested from your own evisa's account , making you as her "sponsor" ; or
b) your PMA , if she also owns Rp10 billion in its shares .

The main problem is that when I logged into the company's account

My wife and myself are not inside...

The normal should be when we clicked on "stay permit"

There should be those people sponsored by the company which is also the guarantor.

This is not the case for me.

The immigration of Batam have also asked me to filled in the letter called "SURAT PERMOHONAN PERUBAHAN DATA/RESET PENJAMIN "

I have done it. Sent to [email protected] and wait.

I done that and immigration got back with "Update data penjamin", given me a new ID and password

I logged into the account and again, I can't find anyone in the "stay permit" tab.

I went down again on Thursday and the immigration again said that they will write in to the pusat for me.

And now I'm again asked to wait.

My Kitas is expiring on 28 Mar 2026 and I should be due for renewal but I'm now stuck with this issue.

She is actually called the "person in charge" when logged into the e visa go account.

This is what the immigration called that of being my sponsor.

Yes , she is under option B which she holds 10 billion

She is the commissioner of the company.

Good news! the help center of Jakarta had gotten back with the existing account that my notary had created.

Anyone who are in the territory of Indonesia can allow me to do remote to their PC to check if I can renew?

Is your notary also the visa agent you mentioned before ?

I am having difficult to understand you (by the way , many of your posts were difficult to me) .

If Jakarta's Immigration corrected the PMA's evisa account's problem you had before , can't you simply login (using your computer) and check ?

And , at the other thread (https://www.expatindo.org/community...ge-of-passport-number.8228/page-3#post-114917) when I asked you how you updated your passport data , you answered : "I used a personal evisa account to amend this and not the company one." . In my view you should have done the passport data update at the company (your PMA) account . Better check it , you may need to do it again .

I am just able to login using the correct account now.

For some reason I had created the personal account and it worked also allowing me to update my passport details.

As my Indonesian wife says when confronted with such problems, "Welcome to Indonesia." Sorry, I can't add any helpful tips but it seems to be the nature of immigration departments everwhere to make life as difficult as possible and increasingly expensive. Take a deep breath. Stress will not make the process any speedier. Eventually you will get there and it is such a relief to finally get sorted.

I disagree about the Indonesian Immigration (the only one I know) .

I deal myself with Indonesian Immigration since year 2000 and can say that , yes it usually requires more documents than what is stated in the Law/Regulations , but this additional difficult does not seem unreasonable to me , considering that basic Indonesian documents are in general more bureaucratic compared to some other countries I know/heard of .

In relation to procedures , Indonesian Immigration made a big improvement , making things a lot easier now .

In Europe it gets worse if you go more southward. (As my Swiss colleague used to say: “every country has its south”). The Immigration department which has been the worse for me was in Mexico. Luckily over here they are at least friendly. But next to unnecessary demand of forms and information they already posses, work is often done in a slapdash way. And as in many countries, their IT systems contain many errors.

Love the paperwork. Many many years ago in Malaysia I was applying for a permit for filming a documentary. About a dozen or more lengthy forms to fill in. As a Mr Yusuf was going through the documents he said, "This one we need 20 copies." And later I asked, "Mr Yusuf why would you need 20 copies?" Before the end of the meeting Mr Yusuf said, "Don't worry about this one" the one requiring 20 copies. Whatever, I am always careful to have any official understand that I realize he or she is not responsible for the policies and if I am exasperated with the process it is not directed at them. Worst outcome is to get your official offside and offended.

I had paid 7 Juta for my 2 years KITAS renewal
I had went down to the local immigration counter to have my photo taken and my hardcopy taken away from me

The senior officer said that they need max 2 months to process my paper.
How crazy that is

Maximum 2 months but it usually takes 2 weeks , unless they request additional documents or corrections .

And after it is paid you are safe . And in practice it is better if they finish after your present KITAS expires because if they finish , for example , 20 days before it expires , your new KITAS may start 20 days earlier (you lose 20 days of your stay permit) .

I get 2 sides of the story

My friend who holds a kitap said they will not take away the days off your existing permit

They will add 2 years to it

I had already paid even before going down for photo taking .

Now my kitas is being processed at Jaakrta.

I recently converted my KITAS into a KITAP , and lost few days . Here in this Forum , another member extended his/her Re-Entry Permit 2 times , and in both extensions he/she lost some days .
