Are you living a healthy enough lifestyle to see you into old age?

Death Clock will tell you when you are likely to leave us.

I have until 2031 apparently.

ya see, I don't particularly worry about when I will snuff it...
I am more interested in cramming the fun stuff in now. Fact- we all snuff it- so why waste time trying to figure out the dates :D

Better off mudwrestling :p

I'm planning to live until 2042. Dunno why, that's always just been my plan. Whether the fates intend to comply, I have no idea.

Looks like my time is 2035. Not too bad I guess, although that's pretty much the time I start to collect social security. Oh well, some other lucky person would get my share. For me it's not how long though...but how fulfilled the life is. Plus, I think the website under-estimated my BMI.....

I am due to pass away on Monday, 27th November 2045. At least, I'll be smart enough to get the full week end.

I just did the death clock - according to it, I die at age 70. No way!

It was the "neutral" outlook and "daily" drinking that did me in on the calculator. But it doesn't ask about exercise, which I get tons of. That's gonna get me those extra 14 years, you just wait and see. I'll make a post here on my 84th birthday, I promise :)

Once you get your KTP it will increase, mines up to 2027 I'm sur I because I got my KTP

At least I won't have to shell out for the next KITAP. Then again, I would need a new sponsor since that thing said my wife would go 6 months before me and she is a 2.5 years younger. Of course, I told her that 6 months of a broken heart would be the limit for all I could take.

There are a number of sites available to predict longevity based on the variable known to lengthen or shorten one's lifespan. Most ask life-style questions, related to diet, smoker or not, and like this one, alcohol consumption. Questions on the amount and frequency of exercise, the number of relatives expiring due to life shortening diseases are also common. The environment of your residential location is also a consideration -- the air in Iowa is cleaner than in Jakarta, for example. The better calculators express the results as probabilities, in addition to identifying the most likely number of additional years one has to play with. The ones I have looked at place my life expectancy between 85 and 95, with most ending up in the shallow end of the pool.

Why is it important? For one thing, it is good to have some idea how long you are expected to live when deciding when to begin taking one's government mandated retirement benefits, in the USA benefits mandated by the Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA) or Social Security. Most people can take the benefit at an age between 62 and 70; the longer you defer, the higher the monthly benefit payments. If you are in ill health or have a long list of unhealthy habits, better to take the benefits early, but if in good health, have a healthy lifestyle and can continue to work or have alternate income sources, waiting until age 70 pays big dividends.

The dividend in wait until 70 comes only if you live beyond the break even point. In my case, the total amount of benefits paid with an age 62 versus an age 70 retirement will be equal at approximately age 78. (66 versus 70 is age 82.) If I was a sickly bastard or had a lifestyle similar to Keith Richards, I would start taking the benefits as early as eligible. But seeing as I am a clean living, wholesome and healthy guy, I am waiting for age 70 as it's more probable than not that I will live beyond age 78 and even beyond age 82, at which point I will probably be money ahead.

More importantly, the benefits that will continue to accrue to my wife, once I hit the silk, will also be greatest if retirement is deferred to age 70. And actuarially, she will likely outlive me by twenty years or more.

I ran the thing for living in Indonesia and for living in the US. I die 6 months sooner in the US. Go figure.

I refuse to use the death clock, does it take positive thinking into account? I've heard positive thinking is a contributing factor to life expectancy ... but then again, I know someone who is the most negative thinker & is now pushing 82. ... long live Keith Richards.

Mind keith looks a 102, bit like his mate mick

more likely to get shot perhaps?

probably due to the cold and snow removal or driving in it. That or if still working, the stress from that of which I would have been long gone by now.

Actually many predictive models do take attitude into account. Optimists do live longer; some sites ask questions about depression, numbers of friends, social interactions and similar in estimating life span.

Keith might just be an outlier or perhaps he has a terrible optimistic view of life. He will probably outlive the other Stones if he gives up tree climbing, that is.

K Richards: his body is probably just in a chemically preserved state.
