As every year, we have set up the Christmas tree.
Well "we", in fact it is the Miss who does it 100%. First time she saw me doing it in HKG, she went "next year I take care", and indeed since that time (7 y ago) it is alway her to set it up.
I always had Christmas trees where ever I lived (well, not in Saudi..). Even on board in the Navy we systematically had one in the cantine, and usually one small one per living quarter.
I never did set up the crypt, except when the kids were very young, but I am going to order one on AliExpress this week. Getting old and soft I guess ?

Well Iam about half your age, so I can't say that I did the same thing for ages but I feel that way. Ever since I moved out from home, I always had christmas decorations and a tree. The decoration is already set up and the tree will follow this Saturday when we have time for it. My wife loves this christmas stuff, too so we do it together.
I honestly admit that I don't do it for religious causes and don't go to the church, but I always loved the whole christmas atmosphere. Being with family (well, sadly there is only my own little family and a few relatives of my wife left. My bro lives in Germany and the resr is gone), the good food, the nice decorations and so on. I only have the best memories when it comes to christmas and I hope our daughter will feel the same way .
And somehow I just love the "kitsch"

Right now I only have two pics:

@Methblinkz ,
Same spirit and feeling for me. But I limit it to the Christmas tree, never really did the full house and garden decoration / illumination. Although it has now become very fashionable in France.
Yes, I like the Christmas spirit, the malls going mad on decorations like in HKG and most big cities. Well, except them Christmas Carolls playing on a loop all day long 🙄🙄🙄
Same as you I am not a practising religious person, but it is important to me and for my mental balance to live according to MY culture and customs. A bit same as for the food...😁😁😁

Had a little hope that my kids could have come over, but that is now pushed back till ? ? ?

Christmas used to be my favorite time of the year… when I was a kid. Gifts from godparents and adult relatives were the most anticipated. I was still too young to enjoy giving gifts then, but receiving was no less joyful.

@Balifrog
Surprised you are quite sentimental, and you have Christmas tree in your house! We have one too, and the lights on the tree have been flickering non-stop since Christmas 2019. This is the story, when it was time to switch-off the lights and remove the tree, my wife suggested keeping it on until the pandemic is over. So it’s been there until now. Hopefully we can take it down middle of next year or after next year’s Christmas.

I was planning on having a big Christmas tree, maybe a ham dinner and a nice bottle of red...but maybe I'll just have a mini table-top tree, a bunless burger, a bottle of red, crank up the AC, wear my fleece and pretend that it's December in Pdx...

p.s. Nice tree btw.

I'm excited to be heading home to singapore for xmas this year, I haven't seen my family since march 2020. Since then i have had another daughter so i can't wait for my parents to meet my little one.

My favourite beautiful tiny Christmas tree ..... Worms ...

They might be preparing for the first Christmas mass since 2019 fire., as well.

Trump is also attending the reopening ceremony. Notre Dame is an example of the masterpiece of Gothic architecture, part of UNESCO World Heritage designation,
The only reason T-rump is doing anything, is a publicity stunt! He doesn't have a spiritual bone in his demented body!

But Notre Dame is a masterpiece!

Oh come on, don't be grumpy. On the bright side. Another reason T-rump might be going, is the Hunchback is retiring, and they need a replacement?
