"According to article 71 act number 6 year 2011 concerning immigration every changes of civil status, citizenship, occupation, guarantor or change of address must be reported to local immigration office in immediate period of time"

Is changing RT/RW within same Kelurahan considered as change of address?

Ya ya, sure; you have officially 15 days. But it is not very consistent what you'll need, in Bali they are somewhat easier than in Jakarta and often don't request the RT/RW/Banjar info.

At Imigrasi request and fill out a form, Perdim 27 (Perubahan Data Orang Asing).

The surat domisili is also needed for a WNI spouse btw. Fun isn't it?

Actually last time I changed address within the same immigration office jurisdiction, it was just filling out a form. No surat domisili needed. This was however 5 years ago.

What about SIM? Do I need to change the address also?

Most importantly for us expats is to register the change of address with immigration. After that you should update your SKTT / KTP-OA to the new address.

SIM can be changed also, but most people just wait until it is time to renew the SIM.

thanks both of you for the information. So, I just need to go to the imigrasi and fill out a form, that's it? And how do I update my sktt? Do I need to wait till my next itas extension?

No, civil registration and immigration are separate and officially the former has to be updated as well. So should the e-KTP* of your wife btw, Although it seems to be a national sport to wait as long as possible (as with changing the KK and marital status on their KTP). Anyway, you can combine them to kill two birds with one stone. And then you'd need the surat.

*The address etc. is still printed on there which in fact nullifies the 'electronic' characteristics of an ID card.

The thing is my wife already has her KK, but the updated e-ktp has still not come out yet. I don't know when it would be! And what could possibly go wrong if I don't change the address immediately?

Every city has their own regulations and determines their fines for late registration of 'residential events'. In Depok for instance, the fine is only 100 ribu for registration beyond the 30 days. In Banyuwangi it is 50.000 for WNI and 100.000 for WNA. In Solo one pays 150.000. But obviously this can be more, in Surabaya it was 'officially' 2 juta*. So better check your local Catatan Sipil.

*with a Dutch friend they interpreted having an incorrect SKTT as having no SKTT. In the end something could be 'arranged'.
