Bank Holiday

I thought today was just a ‘bridge’ day between Waisak and the weekend, but somebody told me it is in fact an official public holiday. Although rare (this additional Waisak holiday) it led to a long bank holiday (again).

These kind of days seem to be part of the -rather excessive maximum of- 28 yearly public holidays. (That put RI in 2nd place after Nepal.)

Next one is the Idul Adha. Last year the government decided to extend this (sacrifice) holiday by giving extra 2 days of mandatory leave before and after the festivities. This year it seems to be two days in total, 17 and 18 June. Monday and Tuesday.

Hey, here in Bali at least from what I've seen. They will celebrate every holiday they can, even if it's a different religion! Anything to not work, seems to be the normal here!
And they complain how bankrupt they are! I wonder why?

This year Idul Adha is officially two days; tomorrow and Thursday.

So with the instruction for civil servants to work from home on the Fridays, it will be a nice 5 day well deserved break. 🫣
