Indonesia does have a Teacher Training Program, sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Mendikbud), known as the "Pendidikan Profesi Guru (PPG)".
For those who are newly appointed civil servants working as teachers, it is an integral part of the "Pra-Jabatan" e.g pre-appointment process required to become a full-fledged civil servant.
I believe this program can be compared to the PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) in the UK, which is one of the pathway to attaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). It is typically the training in pedagogy that help individuals to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in the field of education.

Whether PPG is mandatory to teach at schools, especially private schools. I am not quite sure about that. Typically Private schools might have more flexibility in setting their own criteria for hiring teachers. Some private schools may prefer or require teachers to have completed PPG, while others might consider alternative qualifications and experience.
This move seems to be a step in the right direction as it emphasizes that, in addition to subject knowledge, a teacher also needs a strong foundation in pedagogy, particularly when instructing children.
The pedagogy is highly important in teaching children. Sockpuppeting for instance while it is prohibited on this forum,

but it is widely acknowledged as an exceptionally effective technique for teaching toddlers and children in their early stage of learning language.
