Annual car taxes

Annual car taxes... Anybody know how they are calculated for older (premium brand) cars?

Been planning to buy a 2nd car as much as a therapy hobby and a weekend ride, but the thought of a "+10 million tax, paid in one part" is not a good one.

PS This is about taxes, not about buying and maintaining 2nd hand cars...

I guess you know (about) the first time registration taxes and costs for a 2nd hand since you ask about annual taxes only? (1% + approx. 450K.)

The yearly motor vehicle tax is called BKP. It is 1,5% of the value of the car. Obviously it decreases every year because of depreciation.

The annual insurance costs and registration fees on our 7 year old Innova are about the same; a little over 3 juta each.

By contrast my 6 year old Corolla in the States cost the equivalent of 2.5 juta annually to register.

(Not much difference.)
