5 years sim with kitap, but dont have KTP yet?

Hi, i have recently got my kitap, but the ktp orang asing is taking forever to process. I need to get a sim made, so i was wondering if its possible to get a 5 year sim using my kitap only?
I have to travel some distance to get the sim made because the local police office said they cant make sim for foreigners, i have to go to Medan. So this is why im asking here.

If you don't have KTP OA, they normally take an STM (Surat Tanda Melapor).

Depends on the area you live.
Way to go POLRES Bandung- Soreang- still stuck in the pre kpk days: Named & shamed.
No way would they process me a 5 year SIM unless I had my KTP & now they say I have to take a test if I want to change from 1 year to 5 years SIM.
They will not let me make a SIM renewal unless I pay INTEL to write me a lettter , & this takes them a day or two for some reason- so I have to go back a second day. I decided to wait until I get my new ITAP in a few years time & will go see how bent they are then.

I have lost my KTP OA years ago and didn t bother to renew it (Bad Atlantis! BAD!) when I extended my KITAP considering the fact that I flash my SIM anytime anyone asks me a KTP and that they look happy enough with it.

That s what I did when I renewed my two SIM last August. Just handed my KITAP, my passport, my old SIM... and my brightest/friendliest smile while keeping the officer busy chatting with me so that he doesn t think too much of the potentially missing documents he officially needs.

I think I had also a surat keterengan domisili from my pak lurah but I must have forgotten to bring it because I still have the original in a folder in my office.

Yes, you can get a 5-year SIM using your KITAP only. I got mine without KTP OA. Not all expat with KITAP can get KTP OA, only those married to Indonesians, not for those who are sponsored by company.

This is NOT correct. ANY ITAP holder is entitled to a KTP OA. Even more, it is MANDATORY for him to apply for one.

Pasal 21 (1)
Orang Asing yang memiliki Izin Tinggal Terbatas yang telah berubah status menjadi Orang Asing yang memiliki Izin Tinggal Tetap wajib melaporkan kepada Instansi Pelaksana paling lambat 14 (empat belas) hari sejak diterbitkan Izin Tinggal Tetap.
(2) Berdasarkan laporan sebagaimana dimaksud pada ayat (1), Instansi Pelaksana mendaftar dan menerbitkan KK dan KTP.

Pasal 63
(1) Penduduk Warga Negara Indonesia dan Orang Asing yang memiliki Izin Tinggal Tetap yang telah berumur 17 (tujuh belas) tahun atau telah kawin atau pernah kawin wajib memiliki KTP.

Oh... okay, thanks. But who is the "Instansi Pelaksana"? What if they refuse to register you (because husband, wife and children are ALL foreigners)? Can there be a KK with all the members foreigners? What is the penalty if you don't have it?

Doing KTP OA was very simple and free but getting letter from RT/RW was ..... a ping-pong game + some cash was involved to get things done. SKTT was done in 10 min in the main police station. Apparently we - foreigners we have to report ourself every year for this SKTT letter to the police station? Can anyone confirm this?

I had my SIM prolonged without KTP OA for 5 years.

Yes, it seems different areas follow different rules. What i can say is, if you live in siantar, north sumatra, you will experience problems getting KTP OA, and if you dont have SKTT or KTP OA in medan, you will not be able to get a 5 year SIM.

I have followed all the rules and submitted all documentation within the 14 days but have been told that processing will take 3 weeks as they have to make a home visit.

I think the law quoted by atlantis is clear and they must issue once I have reported and presented all documentation.

Can anyone provide comment as I want to complain.

Like I said in some other post here on the forum the only visit I got was from Imigration staff while I have been upgrading my KITAS to KITAP. I had no visits while I was apllying for KTP OA.

Well today I have renew my SIm A & C.:-

1. Medical checkup once only for both.
2. x2 KTP (green "card" not EO-KTP)
3. x1 KITAP
4. x1 PASSPORT
5. x1 STM Letter from Polres Intel which was done last year(the lady say can used until date of expire of KITAP.

I am happy at last they told me it is 5years but by right it should follow the expire date of my Kitap which was in 2019 but get till 2022. That about it. Done in Cianjur.

What I know is the immigration have legal right to visit and the Disduk only base on the letter of resident done by Kecamatan and all other letter. It seem fishy.

Never heard of a home visit for a ktp oa ,, It smells like an attempt to "screw the bule for a few shekels " . maybe you should get the ktp oa in your hand b4 you complain , without paying 1 rup.
