2nd Kitap renewal at Tangerang Immigratio

Went to Kuningan dropped off my documents, as usual had a job to find somewhere to park, the office is on the 10th floor, supposed to come back the next day, but they sent my daughter the documents next day by What’s App, so the following day off to Tangerang immigration for completion,...

Anglian, when you delivered your documents to the DirJen office in Kuningan : you were told that the decision letter for your ITAP renewal would be available the next day?

We got there early and waited till 3pm, a man came out and said very sorry but the person who was to sign your paperwork went to hospital, so we will Whats App you and Tangerang the paperwork, the paperwork came on What’s App about mid-day the following day, I don’t know if that is usual, but saved another Macet journey to Kuningan

During your first visit to DirJen in Jakarta : were you instructed to return to that same office to pick up the decision letter (Surat Keputusan) about your ITAP , then you were responsible to deliver that decision letter to the immigration office in Bandung?

If you live in Tangerang, you go to Kemang, the official told me applicants who live in Depok and Bekasi have to go to Bandung, I’m assuming that other parts of Jakarta have to go to Bandung also

@all4ywh yes up to us to get the letter to Bandung in person or by mail they said

The Whats App bit I find very encouraging - that is going to save a lot of time and money for a lot of people. I have always thought it is a bit old fashioned having to go backwards and forwards across great distances with paperwork, when there are so many modern forms of communication now.

I am very impressed that initially on that day of your visit to DirJen office in Jakarta : upon arrival you were promised your decision letter for your ITAP renewal would be “available" to take away on that same day.

14 months ago when I did my ITAP renewal & visited the DirJen office (I reside in Tangerang Selatan - a suburb west of Jakarta proper), at that office I received a “requestor” receipt slip which actually on 3 identical slips I had to fill in my personal data, and it was printed on the slip : at the latest 7 days from the date of my visit the decision letter would be available, I would be notified via sms , and upon notification I could then visit the immigration office for my area and it was not necessary to return to the DirJen office to pick up the decision letter. However 14 months ago I did not receive notification via sms : so I called the various telephone numbers for the DirJen office, sent a couple of emails to DirJen, and sent couple of messages to the WhatsApp number for DirJen, however I received no replies. 13 days after my visit to the DirJen office, I received a phone call from an official at that office who told me that my decision letter already was issued & the immigration office for my area already had been notified as well.

Currently I am in the process of changing sponsor (because of divorce) for my ITAP. On february 22nd I delivered my personal documents to the DirJen office : again I had to fill in 3 identical “requestor” slips/receipts with my personal data. At this time it is written on those slips :

Berkas akan diperiksa dan diteliti oleh petugas. Jika telah memenuhi persyaratan Surat Keputusan (SK) akan diselesaikan paling lambat tanggal _____________.” (on my slips an official at the DirJen office wrote in the date 01-03-18 [march 1st] ).

Translation of the above statement : “File will be reviewed and be researched by an official. If it has fulfilled requirement Decision Letter will be finished at the latest date _______________.”

On the current receipt slips there was nothing written about how notification to requestor would be conducted, so I asked the official at the DirJen office who I met during that visit and he said that I would be notified by either : email, phone call or WhatsApp.

Around 9:00 a.m. on march 1st, I checked the status of my change of sponsorship request at this webpage for the DirJen office : https://izintinggal.imigrasi.go.id/IT-online/manajemen_layanan.xhtml?tab=3

At that hour the status of my request was noted as “under review”. Later at 11:45 a.m., I checked again and the status had changed to “decision”. Up until this minute the status has not been updated with any other details.

2 days ago (march 5th) I had not been notified yet about the decision letter so I contacted an officer who I know at the immigration office in Tangerang to ask if she could check on my decision letter because the payment invoice which on february 12th I received at that immigration office will expire on march 10th. However that officer was on leave from that immigration office and she instructed me to visit that office. Next I contacted another officer who I know at the same immigration office, but he did reply back to me. So yesterday morning I visited that immigration office and presented the receipt slip which on february 22nd I received from the DirJen office. An officer checked the status of my request and told me that even though the decision letter was finished, the officials at the DirJen office had not clicked yet the “release” button on their end : if I want to know the details of my decision letter then I can visit again the DirJen office. When I asked why nobody at the immigration office in Tangerang could contact an official at the DirJen office, I was told : “because for your decision letter the officials at the DirJen office had not clicked yet the ‘release’ button on their end.” When I asked about the payment invoice which on february 12th I received at that immigration office and that invoice will expire on march 10th (a saturday) if by that date I still had not been notified about the decision letter, will that payment invoice be replaced or cause a problem with the return of my KITAP & passport to me, I was told : “you can wait to be notified about the decision letter or before march 10th you can visit again the DirJen office to ask about the decision letter & the payment invoice.”

Currently are we living in the gregorian year 2018 ?...:dizzy:

Based on the experience of fellow member Anglian when just 3 weeks ago he visited the DirJen office in Jakarta, and based on my experiences from 14 months ago & just 2 weeks ago (noted in my previous post #46) : I do not understand why you were required to return to the DirJen office to pick up your decision letter and you were responsible to make sure that decision letter was delivered to the Kantor Wilayah immigration office in Bandung...

I can only say TII :D
Also, when we got to Tasik to pick everything up, their printer was broken so, "please come another day" Got a call on Fri to say all set, will go this morning

Yesterday my wife noticed that my E ktp expired with my KITAP so went to start that process today. It's just a re registration process. The fella processing it lives nearby and said he'll drop it off when complete. Apparently the Internet is still broken there

Tangerang immigration are really on the ball so, unless there are problems with your application, they're quick. If you want a snack there's a canteen out back. 5* it is not, but it's fine. The networking over an Indomie doesn't hurt your case.

As part of my KITAP extension process I went to Kuningan this afternoon to pick up the 'decision' letter and then raced to my local immigration office. I handed over the letter and expected to have to head upstairs to pay the 12jt but the officer said that I should pay at a bank, any bank, and they would automatically be informed of the payment and I could then return to collect my passport two working days after payment. I don't remember reading of anyone else paying their KITAP fee via a bank. Can anyone confirm that this is the process?
Also, in Kuningan I was given not one but two letters. One for my local immigration office and another for Kanwil/HAM. Again, I can't recollect anybody mentioning two letters. Is this standard procedure?

We have had to make Visa application payments (latest for Kitap) through a bank and then give Immigration officers a copy of the receipt. I believe this process is to do with an anti bribery methodology to minimize opportunities for corrupt officals.

OK, thanks Harry. Nice to know I'm not the only one to do it that way.

Can you please let us know how the fee of 12juta is arrived at for the first KITAP extension, and what it covers.

Pretty straight forward and even published on Imigrasi websites:
10,2 juta ITAP* plus 1,75 juta for a 2 year MERP make -give or take- 12 juta.

There is no more 'first extension' btw; there is an (expensive) extension after the first KITAP. And after that there is reporting and MERPs (at every five and two year interval).

*e-KITAP was (is?) a bit more expensive

Well it does include traffic inconvenience and some travel, but it does save a considerable sum of money, and is relatively painless
Did you have to go for a "chat" at immigration? If so, what questions did they ask - the same ones as for the first KITAP? And did your wife have to join you for the chat?
