2018 FIFA World Cup

did anyone know when will the world cup ticket available? i want to attend there, because it said that anyone who have the world cup ticket, doesnt require any visa to go to russia. I really like that idea.

The tickets are not for sale yet. Later this year, they mentioned June before...

You are right btw, on not needing a traditional visa for Russia with a ticket, they announced a FAN-ID. There seems to be a special law approved for this.

In the European qualifiers there has been one surprise only; the lousy performance of the Dutch team. Currently they are in the 4th position in their group.

For the rest as expected: Clear group leaders are France, Germany, England, Belgium, Poland and Croatia. Spain and Italy are head to head.

After loosing from Switzerland in September, Portugal is working on a remonte. They are on a winning streak with a huge amount of goals by....

The next games will be in June.

In the North, Central American and Caribbean group, the USA has beaten Honduras with 6:0. Now they have 4 points and are on the fourth position. After four games, Mexico is still leader.

In the Asian group, Australia is catching up. They are third with 13 points behind Japan and Saudi Arabia, which both have 16 points. So there is still hope.

In South America, Brazil is an absolute leader. Behind them, all but Bolivia and Venezuela have more or less the same amount of points. So eight teams are still in the running, and that after 14 games.

In seven days the World Cup will start.

The schedule of the first 3 days is as follows. For quite some forum members the first game of day three will be interesting...

But for me I think I'll enjoy the last game most. And Portugal - Spain could normally be a semi final of course.

There are many practice and warm-up games taking place.

England and Belgium have been doing quite well.

But you can't say the same of two other favorites: France and Spain. A bleak French team could not get past the United States, And an underwhelming Spain had quite some issues with Tunisia.

Tonight the first game, between Russia and Saudi Arabia.

Putin really cleaned up his previous friends, the hardcore Russian supporter base. (Remember the fights with the English?) it seems many were visited and picked up the last couple of months and were ahem - told that it would not be a good idea to show their faces. So many have even left the city to visit family or plan to take a lot of selfies in bars etc. where they will watch the game. Also the prostitution scene is being cleaned up in the cities that will host games btw.

NB: The USA, Canada and Mexico won the bid for the 2026 championship. The only competitor was Morocco but they don't even have a proper infrastructure yet. In the selection process a lot of politics of course. There is a complaint from the Mexicans and Canadians that the US has been very dominant in the process, e.g. all games as of the quarter finals will take place there.

The opening ceremony has ended. With some controversy by Robbie Williams during his performance.

Tonight there’s Russia vs Saudi Arabia. The next days will be more interesting. Russia has scored btw.

One of the bigger issues in yesterday's game has been for people with daltonism. As you can guess from the picture, those who are color blind had a good reason to complain:

There are three games tonight.

Uruquai just beat Egypt. No big surprise there, especially since the big Liverpool star Salah is still injured and did no play.

Morocco is playing Iran. Since they expect it might get out of hand, quite a lot of measures are being taken by the police in bigger European cities, which have large Moroccan communities.

But the real biggie is Portugal against Spain of course. Spain is one of the favorites for the title. We will see how they perform against Christian Ronaldo's team.

UPDATE: Well, it was the big CR7 show. If you're able to score a hattrick against Spain and keep your team in the race all by yourself, you're getting in the league of a Maradona.

All I can say is Viva Costa Rica!
Not the best team but the team with the most heart.

The lost test game against Belgium a couple of days ago did not promise a lot of good for this tournament. They will get it very difficult to qualify for the next round. Brazil is of course in a different league. But then again, against Switzerland and Serbia they do stand a chance.

Yes as always the idiosynchrosis of Indonesia cable TV - you can't see it on the paid for local channel but you can on the free versions, unplug the cable connection and see if you can pick up the trans signal with a coat hanger

Everywhere else in the world has to pay $100 to watch it, here it is free but not on the channel that we pay for - doesn't make sense except this is Indonesia
