Lol you sound like a vaccine zealot. Even many locals adamantly refuse to get it. What does that tell you?
For someone who's lived here forever you seem pretty high strung. Pop open a bintang and relax.
Tough titty said the kitty.
News flash. You're not special just bc you managed to live here for 5-10 yrs. The gatekeeping rude attitude is disgraceful.
Anyway I managed to venture out to Kuningan. I went to about 3 malls. They all let me in without too much of a problem. I was with a local though.
Next time I'll go alone and compare. If I get stopped I'll just slip the guard 50 or 100 ribu. That's money well spent to do some shopping.
Why is everyone an asshat on this forum? It's a simple question. No need to act like a douche if you don't know.
They obviously don't all check the card / QC code plus I'm not interested in the vaccine so that's out of the question.
You do realize there's a pandemic going on right now? Hmm...
It was kinda tolerable before the ppkm lockdown and I could see friends and enjoy bars etc at least. Now there's nothing...
It's mostly guys that have been here 5+ years that love it a lot. Most newcomers don't seem to fancy it from...
Sounds like Bekasi is just like Jakarta. Probably worse. No friendly people or decent food. Just loud mosques and fake politeness. And crazy heat during the day.
I'm characterizing their behavior. I don't like being singled out. Tons of locals get a silent pass because they hate foreigners basically and they think we're spreading this mythical virus.
I think it's mostly the Chindos being Karens actually because they're quite aggressive and roughly...
I'm trying real hard just like Jules in Pulp Fiction to be the good shepherd. Excellent metaphor for dealing with these morally bankrupt and corrupt racist people.
They look lovely. I've enjoyed traveling to Bogor and Bandung and Jogja before lockdowns / muhdik actually for the nature, peace of mind and fresh air. It served as a brief respite from craphole Jakarta, the worst city in Indonesia.
I don't mind the lockdown but I've noticed locals acting more harshly and xenophobic as of late.
Barking at me to put on my mask and standing a few feet from me on purpose. Meanwhile they ignore all the low class idiots in wife beaters and sandals in my building BREAKING the rule on purpose...
The policy just isn't logical. Indos think somehow you can't spread this ridiculous disease with a plastic bank card, but they shun cash. Mostly at the big malls.
I've seen people here just take out this 3jt cash wad and start rubbing it down with sanitizer. Incredibly intelligent people.
I would suggest an apartment in Kunnigan or Kemang or some other apartment in Jakarta but then you deal with douchey rich locals who push and shove without saying 'permisi' or excuse me.
Or you deal with sugar baby / trust fund types that try and look down on you because they can't get a good...
Yeah I figured it out and it's working now.
Indo isn't really good for payment infrastructure where payments are seamless. Lot of red tape and documents needed versus say the Philippines or even Vietnam where anyone can top up wallets or bank accounts.
Cashless is very important now since more...
Noticed that Indo isn't a user friendly country for banking or business either without huge bureaucracy or using a 2nd tier bank like Permata / HSBC.
You also have bad payment infrastructure where it takes you forever and a day to top up OVO, linkaja or any digital wallet.
