    I just went out through the autogate. They have now segregated them between foreigner autogate and Indonesia ones. Worked well, no queue and took 10 seconds.

    Worked for me at arrival using a Kitap a few weeks ago. Might depend on your passport and whether its got he necessary digital bits? Oh and i only tried as the immigration guy specifically told me Kitap can use it.

    Annoying Ads on the site.

    It now seems to have got worse with big ads at the top and bottom of the page and (in page) pop ups sometimes. Same if i use a different browser. This is only on this website and not on others. Anyone else seeing this?

    EV in Indonesia

    Most of central jakarta blocks alternate days between 6-10am and 4-9pm depending on your license plate, ie 1st of the month only cars with plates ending in odd numbers....4th only even numbers and so on. EVs are exempt from this. Only EVs i see are Hyundais and the odd chinese ones.

    You skipped my point. If it's new items only then am I allowed one high priced item now without duty? It's badly written. And since when did common sense apply to the Indonesian government.

    Is it that obvious? So what you are saying is that now one pair of new shoes and one new handbag per year is duty free? Even if they cost $10k? There is nothing obvious about these vague rules and that is the main problem.

    Im still reading it as 2 pairs of shoes max, new or not. Some sort of penalty due on above 2 and if any of the first 2 look new and expensive then duty will still apply. Very sloppy policy probably made to encourage some on the spot negotiations

    Its not Imigrasi. Its customs and excise Yes they are very much after branded shoes. Just get caught with a new pair of Jimmy Choos or Louboutins and see what happens.
