I was wondering how many of the members here follow the Indonesia sub-forum on Reddit (actually called subreddits).?

Reddit is actually banned in Indonesia, blocked by Internet Positif - but some of you may still be able to access it.

There is often interesting stuff there and worth a read.

The latest interesting post is by a girl who ordered a sex toy by mail order and had it stopped at customs.

Actually, up until recently I did not know about it and it was never mentioned on the "other place", eventhough I consult reddit for other stuff as well.

A couple of weeks ago, I made a post introducing Expat Indo Forum and a few days ago we got featured in a permanent link in the "about" section of r/Indonesia.

It's a shame that it is banned in Indonesia. That said r/Indonesia are quite cheeky with their NSFW section

I mainly visit Reddit for its reviews/discussions of new South Park episodes (new season starts soon).
I sometimes stumble across the Indonesian subreddit (when googling for info) and am always impressed by the high quality of information and discussions. Seems to be the smartest online forum in the country, so of course it's banned. Coconuts Jakarta (online quirky/straight news portal) sometimes sources stories from there.

To address the OP's question - I don't spend any time on Reddit (Indonesian subforum or elsewhere), but not because I don't think it's a great site. There are only so many hours in the day, and I am already appalled at how my on-line time eats into other activities I value. There is such an amazing variety of mental stimulation available in the modern age that there is no way to consume it all. If time were an infinite resource, I'm sure I would devour a variety of Reddit subforums. But time is limited, so I pick and choose.

I go to Reddit each day for interesting content. Simply using Google DNS (8.8.8.8) gets past any blocking. If your work connection blocks Reddit, you can use Chrome and the Hotspot Shield extension to access it.

nb: "Interesting content" = still safe for work.

You could try DNSCrypt, works well on PC but I haven't been able to make it work on my Android phone.

AnonymoX is a good program that can be installed as an add on to Chrome you change your dns to the US, UK or Holland
