Final Response, I Hope - Constructive

I feel a second to last final constructive response coming on once this thread is justifiably closed.

Moving on to something really serious. Don't you think its time to retire the forehead-ball-bouncing avatar, El. It is rather distracting.

Come to think of it, Snpark's chosen forum name might be more descriptive if the "p" were dropped.

Sparky is probably the better suggestion, especially if you could dim the screen to signal each post.

Actually I do..

Clearly you don't. Look it up.

Lets just say I've suffered bouts of Gratilia syndrome in the past...

Oh? Example, please. No? Didn't think so. Just another example of cager syndrome - groundless fantasy.

... suggestion coming from me to lock you in the cage.

Anyone take you up on your suggestion? Of course not, because it's ... silly, and not ... ... ironic!

Oh, I've got some examples of being an undesirable negative attention seeking wanker, trust me. I guess you'll just have to wait until you've attained cager status to see them. Having said that, I doubt you'll make it that far.

Oh, I've got some examples of [me] being an undesirable negative attention seeking wanker, trust me.

Clearly. And I see you've already discovered the best way of attracting attention; just jump on the cager bandwagon and let unsubstantiated rip.

I guess you'll just have to wait until you've attained cager status ...

Attention deficit? Here let me help you:

And why would I want to be locked up with a bunch of foul-mouthed adolescents?

Some quotes are just worth repeating.

Which question is that, Pus?

Do you mean this one?

Grats, my prickly friend, if you are suggesting a quid-pro-quo, wherein I answer a question of yours and then you answer one of mine, I'll accept.

So, to your question: Puspawarna, if you can find an unprovoked example of what you're complaining about, why don't you just moderate it???

Well, not to put too fine a point on it, this ain't Living In Indonesia Expat Forum. We, the moderators, decided from the start that we prefer a light touch, and since the inception of Expat Indo have issued very few warnings or bans. This is partly an acknowledgement of the sense of community most of us feel, partly because problematic posters/inflammatory exchanges tend to peter out on their own without mod intervention, partly because there is a bit of entertainment value in letting fools blather on unchecked.

We created the Cage in large part as an alternative to having to moderate strictly. Overall it has been a successful innovation. But like most anything human beings create, it's not perfect. Your posts are showcasing one of its shortcomings: your interactions with everyone really belong in the Cage, but you yourself don't have access to the Cage. Maybe we can find a way to tweak the Cage system to get around this, maybe not. I don't think anyone on the mod team is losing sleep over it.

So that's my answer. Now it's your turn: why are you spending so much time engaging on line with people you can't stand? It seems to me that everyone responding to you is having a bit of fun - the sort of enjoyment a kitten gets from batting around an injured cockroach. But are you having fun as well? Because if you are, it's not coming through. Your posts are deeply unpleasant and truly angry. I'd love to have a cup of coffee with just about anyone on this forum, but not someone so embittered.

And I see you've already discovered the best way of attracting attention; just jump on the cager bandwagon and let unsubstantiated rip.
Gratilla, my wounded little sea urchin, I'd suggest there's only one person on this thread at the moment attracting attention.

Well said with your Moderator hat on!

As I said in the the previous thread, this is a classic case of "feeding the fish until someone bites". Which I have once on this thread.

At times there is a good case to let things peter out and times there isn't. That is a role for the moderators discretion.

I must say the previous threat was closed when it was time but I think this threat will peter out as people ignore the comments. Indeed I have found a few of the posts very amusing.

As for the cage, I for one see nothing at all wrong with the concept.
