To quote the sadly deceased Terry Wogan... is it me?

I was brought up to be polite, considerate, helpful & to stand up for what I believe in.

A few things this week have irked? (too strong a word...) hmmmm niggled me.

Last night as an example, on the shuttle bus home there were 3 passengers- me & a couple. The rest stop is for 15 minutes & even I can understand the driver when he says that. Last night the couple disappeared.. after 40 minutes the driver & I were searching the (small) rest area for them. after 1 hour 10 minutes it had got to the point where driving off & leaving them was becoming the option... & they sauntered up to the bus, not a care in the world. The traffic had been awful & the jkt - bdg ride ended up taking almost 7 hours. Obviously their behaviour didn't help matters.

Then there are a couple of things in the forum that make me think: why do I waste my time?
If you are posting and asking for (FREE) advice, surely a bit of common courtesy, appreciation & politeness are the least you can respond with, new member or not.
People actually take time out of their lives to contribute in here, they share their valuable experience & often save others a whole lot of time/money/ hassle.
Is it too much to ask for a little respect?

Then there are those who are incapable of empathy... fair enough, let them get on with their stance on life. Why do they have to try & drag others down with them though?

Part of me thinks "Trolls" & the other part (the gal who grew up the youngest , surrounded by older male siblings/cousins) wants to jump in & start scrapping... just for the hell of it.

I don't lose sleep over such matters, they don't stress me out, my patience levels are resilient & high.
However I do struggle to understand the mentality behind people like this.

I noted your response to some boring person who actually doesn’t know what he wants, I hope with all his cash he gets well and truelly stitched up, a fool and his money are soon parted

An elderly Vietnamese boat refugee told of arriving at a pier in Malaysia and being immediately told by police they could not land and had to go back to sea. Someone asked if they could get water and the police officer said no. As things proceeded another policemen quietly went and got water and gave it to the boat people.
The Vietnamese refugee remarked there seemed to be two kinds of people.... Creators and Destroyers.
I would add two sub categories...... Simplifiers and Complicators.
There seems to be some point in the lives of many people that head down one of these paths. Bad manners and unwarranted insults seem to be the part of the "Destroyers'" make up.
While this is irksome I guess it is important not to allow such people to gain some power over you by upsetting you. But it is hard to understand the apparent satisfaction that drives these people

This would drive me absolutely crazy. I'd have a very hard time holding my tongue. Well, I probably wouldn't say anything. But they'd be getting a few "if looks could kill..." glances in their direction.

Ah Pusp, you show such restraint. I told them they were bodoh & diri sendiri. My tongue was beyond holding at that point.

How did they respond? Let me guess - nervous giggles, then ignored you?

I loved your response in the "timewaster's thread" so much I copied it and send it to myself as email. No you are not a snowflake.

As for the nasty bus experience ... this is only my suggestion but if this would be feasible I would bribe the driver with cash to continue driving, or you could disappear for another hour (in exchange), or .... wasn't there any other travel buses stopping for a break if yes I would buy any empty sit after 30 min of waiting. Yes, JKT-BDG toll is ..... challenging sometimes.
