It's interesting to see how some embassies improve their services to their citizens over the years while other totally screw.Unless it has changed, I renewed a passport last year and it was DHL'd back to my residence directly, I actually even got it less than a week after I had applied through Kun city VFS, all very quick, like I said, that same day I got emailed a DHL # of my app going to Liverpool, then 2 days later an email with a new DHL awb for the new pp coming back, and I tracked it and it was here and in my hands 48hours later directly.
...BTW UK has decided to return to the old blue passports and apparantly from next year all the new issued ones will be the old blue colour and you can apply to change your existing one too. I might do that next year so I have 1 blue and 1 red
Novelty effect is priceless.£72.50 for .... changing the cover of the passport? Any other benefits?
Plus can pretend to be Royal or something
You were talking about transferring a KITAS/P into a new passport. Was it really that easy... just appear with said passport and KITAS/P? I find it difficult to believe KanIm would pass up an opportunity to request I present five meaningless pages of documentation (that they already have) in triplicate (refusing the secondary and tertiary copies, of course).Cheers, was there a fee involved and was it straightforward?
I've just renewed my British Passport and I'm pleasantly surprised. All in all it has taken 7 working days including the day of submission. During submission they told me 4-6 weeks.
To break the process down:
Friday July 15th July - Application submitted at Kuningan City Mall and couriered to Liverpool the same day.
Monday 17th July - The fee of £114.01 was debited from my credit card.
Friday 21st July - I got an SMS from DHL informing me the new passport had been dispatched from the UK.
Monday 24th July - Delivered by DHL at Midday and an email from the application centre at 4:30pm saying I can collect at my convenience.
For once something has gone smoothly for me and not involved pain and exasperation.![]()

Well ... assuming that the UK leaves the EU on 31 October. The betting odds of that happening are only 30% at the moment.Unless it was urgent you should have waited until November for the new passports. From Nov on they don't say "EU" on them
And from 2020 they will be the new blue ones
I'm holding off renewing both of mine until 1 at the end of the year and the other one next year (I have 2, both filling up rapidly)
Depends how petty you are like me to be different. Lol

No Sir. The passport situation is already confirmed that new passports issued after 31 Oct will not have "European Union" on the cover. And blue ones issued next yearWell ... assuming that the UK leaves the EU on 31 October. The betting odds of that happening are only 30% at the moment.
