Mass demonstrations in support of Palestine at Monas

Soooo its not Trump's fault? (I dont follow the middle east situation much, so messy)

I wouldn't say fault but he must have concluded, or was advised, it was not detrimental to USA security and thus made his decision to deny the waiver.
It wouldn't surprise me, if there was some retribution in USA, he'll just turn to saying it's because of immigration policy...and deny it had anything to do with his decision.

The UN General Assembly will debate the question of Jerusalem tomorrow. The General Assembly doesn't recognize the veto.
The USA Ambassador said....
"US Ambassador Nikki Haley on Tuesday warned countries that she will report back to President Donald Trump with the names of those who support a draft resolution rejecting the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital."

Typical of the bully-boy Trump really is...we used to dump bullies in a cold bath tub when I was an air force cadet.

I always say I am a Texan since Texas was independent at one point or Scottish. It is a win-win.

As for Palestine, while I feel bad for the people, their leaders do nothing apart from take money and live in Emirates or Qatar. The rest of the Arab countries see them as political pawns.

Thanks for the link, nice to know that there is now a movie about the 'Son of Hamas', but I do not think it will be shown here in Indonesia. Just like the book, I cannot find it at any bookstore in Indonesia so I had to buy it from Amazon. The book received a high 4+ star ratings and liked by 95% of respondent https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7779696-son-of-hamas

I found the book very interesting and I had found 'The Green Prince'(name of the documentry) on Netflix a few years ago. If it was released, it was only at a handful of cinemas. I found it on iTunes for about $13-15(depending on if you want SD or HD).

With Trump what you see is what you get; there is no master of the diplomatic arts behind the facade. I thought it impossible for the struggle over the future of Jerusalem to become any more intractable. Wrong.

Well I suppose the Rohinga are well down the list of priority now, shame really as most Arab countries have never given a toss for the Palestinians and there isn’t a mad rush for foreign countries to put their embassies in Jerusalem, all it does is keep the pot boiling

Guatamala said they are moving their embassy to Jerusalem and I believe Honduras is also.

How many of those actually have an embassy in Israel I wonder, other than Israel

Good point...didn't think of that....
They probably use the Israeli Embassy/Consul anyway and have no other..... so no option. Same as Canada shares the Australian Consulate in Bali. Too friggin' cheap to rent their own building.

Based on this list from Wiki and not counting the US, just 2, Guatemala and Honduras. Both currently located in Tel Aviv. Nauru has an honorary consolute Te Aviv. So

Found this wiki link and it might shed some light on the reasons for some of them voting the way they did. While they probably do need money from the US,

Togo: In May 2009, Israel and Togo signed a "pact for cooperation in the economic, agricultural and educational fields" with each other.

Palau: Palau is one of the most consistent supporters of Israel in the United Nations and other international affairs along with the United States, Micronesia and the Marshall Islands. In 2006, Palau had the highest voting coincidence with Israel in the United Nations.

Micronesia: The Federated States of Micronesia is one of the most consistent supporters of Israel. Throughout the history of the United Nations General Assembly, there has always been an "automatic majority" against Israel. The United States has often voted in favour of Israel and in recent years, one other nation has joined Israel's defense – Micronesia.

The foreign policy goals of the Micronesia are primarily linked to achieving economic development and protecting their vast marine environment. Israel was one of the first to welcome Micronesia into the family of nations, even before it became a member of the UN. According to Micronesia's U.N. deputy ambassador, the country has since sought close bilateral relations with Israel in areas such as agriculture, technical training and health care training. Israel assisted Micronesia in its early development. As one Micronesian diplomat said, "We need Israeli expertise, so I don't see a change in our policy anytime soon."

In January 2010, the President of the Federated States of Micronesia, Emanuel Mori, and the President of the Republic of Nauru, Marcus Stephen, with their foreign ministers, visited Israel to expand ties on issues such as healthcare, solar energy, water conservation, clean technologies and other areas in which Israel can provide expertise. They met with Israeli leaders including the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Shimon Peres and Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Lieberman.

Marshall Islands: The Marshall Islands is one of the most consistent supporters of Israel international affairs, along with the United States, Micronesia and Palau. The Marshall Islands is a country in free association with the United States, and thus consistently vote in favor of the United States.

Amazing what you can find if you dig around the internet

My father visited Palua on a US government sponsored all expenses paid excursion. It was in October 1944.

Indonesia is willing to recognize Israel and enter into diplomatic relations if Tel Aviv recognizes an independent Palestinian state.

This was stated by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday.

Prabowo spoke these words during a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron, who was visiting Indonesia. (And got slapped in the face by his mom eh .. wife.)

According to Prabowo, Israel's security must be guaranteed, while France continues to express its support for steps towards independence of a Palestinian state.

France will never go against Israel as we have the world's 3rd largest Jewish population, and they represent a BIG lobby !

"As of 2025, the world's core Jewish population (those identifying as Jews above all else) was estimated at 15.8 million, which is approximately 0.2% of the 8 billion worldwide population. Israel hosts the largest core Jewish population in the world with 7.2 million, followed by the United States with 6.3 million. Other countries with core Jewries above 100,000 include France (440,000), Canada (398,000), the United Kingdom (312,000), Argentina (171,000), Russia (132,000), Germany (125,000), and Australia (117,200)."

Recognizing Jewish People is one thing. But supporting Israel Wiping out the Palestinian People is another! Should Nations support this Genocide? 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏾‍♀️🫵🤦🏾🤦

A lot of extreme Islamists believe it is God's will that Israel be wiped off the map. And a lot of extreme Zionists believe that Palestine, Jerusalem, the West Bank are ordained by God to be Jewish. Impossible to reconcile. The best that might be achieved might be is some kind of truce but hard to see that happening any time soon.

I would love to hear the story of how God told them this? What a kind, loving, benevolent, God they have, that tells one group to Wipe a whole Country of People off the Map. And such a Great God, tells the others to Bomb the Shit out of the other group daily, and then deprive them of food, water, medicine until Children are dying! I am so Glad I stay away from these people and their Gods! If this is what Religion does to People, then, I will gladly abstain from it!
Remember what happened to Joan of Arc? God spoke to her how to save the French in battle, and when she did her deed, they burned her at the stake for being a Heretic! That's how those Religious People show their appreciation! 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏾‍♀️🙀🤦🤦🏾🙏🤪😵‍💫😇
