What On Earth Is Going On With My Visa Application??

Hi all..
Its been a few months since i last checked, but i was last informed that to get a kitas, my wife must first go to ditjen offices in jakarta and apply for a 317 visa for myself. So today she arrived all the way from north sumatra only to be told its no longer nesessary to go to ditjen anymore because everything is now online. So now the whole trip was for nothing? Can my wife go back home and apply from the comfort of our own home, or does she need to be in the ditjen office for any reason whatsoever before i tell her to go home?

There is absolutely no reason to travel to Jakarta for KITAS/KITAP anymore. You can indeed do it online. At most you need to travel to your local Kantor Imigrasi. Check out this article on a recent experience shared here:

If anything the procedure should be much simpler now, as even sending the documents to Jakarta is no longer necessary.

I was about to say the same as Van...I would have given my wife a couple of hundred thousand Rupiah and told her to have a blast....
I've been married over 30 years and my generosity has never been disputed...

hehehe...'Blast'....that's a typo. I meant.....give her a coupla hundred-thou to go on a demo and get tear-gassed....FAST.

Fireworks Eh! you can get them in Jakarta?...after watching the New Year display from our Jakarta apartment I thought they must be all used up.
