Just seen this report in...http://weirdandamazingtravel.about....tm_source=cn_nl&utm_campaign=newssl&utm_term=

1. Jakarta, Indonesia: 35.2%

The world's most delay-prone airport, as of this writing, is Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, Indonesia. The hub of Garuda Indonesia Airlines, Jakarta Airport serves more than 200,000 flights per year, placing it in the top 20 airports in the world according to traffic. What leads to the delays here, however, is a combination of inadequate air traffic control infrastructure and an airport facility that is both too small and too antiquated for current usage, even if the traditional design of the airport does make for a charming delay.

Is it broken down by airline and domestic/intl flights?

I get some delays on LCC's, especially domestic. Not much with Cathay, JAL, KE, etc.

They are being way generous. The stupid design of the airport makes delays even worse, because it is so far to go back to shopping/dining areas once you are in the boarding "pavillions".

It's good to see the fourth most populated nation is No.1 in something.
Not so good at getting Olympic medals...lousy at winning anything in soccer...not even best in executing people...so congrats RI....:first:

Hmmm. The last time I found Soekarno-Hatta "charming" was probably in 1986 or so. In those days the air in the arrivals hall was perfumed with the sweet clove smell of kretek - very exotic for a girl from New England.

Great, lets join a forum and keep up a stream of on invective about the country we choose to live in :panda:

Interesting that the 'traditional' design was architected and built by the French.
I used to fly into Kemayoran/Halim, which were really small, so it was a welcome change to land at Soekarno-Hatta.
The toll-road to get into Jakarta hotels was also built but they didn't figure the area floods and closes the toll...that's why there are 'after-thought' raised parallel roads on either side of the main toll-road.

Do you mean that when one chooses to live somewhere one should be denied commenting, whether good or bad?

Alternatively, we could have a forum where we only said nice things: Indonesian food is delicious! Batik is beautiful! Volcanoes are stunning! People are nice! Bahasa Indonesia is not too difficult to study! Balinese dancing is so graceful!

Personally, I think honest discussion is better. No place is perfect, Indonesia (and our home nations) included.

Curious. Are you a citizen of Indonesia yet or plan to be? Seems like you are planning a run for some kind of office.

We all know it's not perfect here, corruption, rubbish, macets, loony cyclists, but I think basically we enjoy the people and our way of life, as a Brit I love a good moan, if you get a few Brits together moaning it's actually quite funny, not to be taken too seriously, I don't know Londo, but if he listens carefully he will hear Indonesians complaining more vigorously than us about all Indonesia's faults,

Well at least he spiced up the conversation a bit. It didn't take long for a bunch of responses to pour in.

Agreed...in the old forum he might have been infracted for 'provocation'...here it is called 'spicing up'.
How ironic.

I disagree that the comment would have been infracted in the pre-Lexit days (and I should know), but I'm glad you like the new place. :)

I should also know as I was infracted for a much less provoking comment than this...... "Great, lets join a forum and keep up a stream of on invective about the country we choose to live in :panda:"...
