There seems to be an air of delapidation in the states regarding their airports, it's as though they have given up, and the punters can take it or leave it. At least they try here
I have to stick up for LAX a little bit. The departure gates used to remind me of entering a dark and dirty cave. With the recent upgrades to the International terminal, the lobby and departure gates are really very nice.
TSA was even good last week. The lines were horrendously long but ended up moving rather quickly. Every passenger was treated as a PreCheck. Leave the shoes and belts on and no need to take out the computer, just empty the pockets and move through the scanner. Not even using the full body scanner, just walk through the portal. It still took about an hour, but would have taken hours if the TSA had stuck to the non PreCheck method.
But all the improvements in the world will still be like putting lipstick on a pig as far as LAX is concerned. Just too much passenger growth for the traffic access and size/ basic design of the facility.
Well, it is good to see that Fox News in its usual -and very scientific- approach, created a sorted top list based on anonymous Reddit comments. Well founded and eminent journalism.
