Just a question to anyone who has recently processed a KITAP extension to Seumur Hidup/Lifetime . Do they still issue a card or do you only get the download attachment on the Approval email ? Did the photos /biometrics today but forgot to ask .

Card was abandoned already some time ago. So it’s just the electronic version in the eVisa system that you need to download*. Same for the IMK btw, no more stamps.

*no email in multiple cases I’ve seen recently

Immigration states it issues both versions (see below) . But because I still didn't hear anybody who got the physical card under this Regulation , I suggest you to ask your Kantor Imigrasi through Whatsapp .

(2) Virtual KITAP is sent electronically after the ITAP has been approved .
(3) Immigration prints and distributes the KITAP to Immigration Offices within a maximum of 3 working days after the ITAP is issued.
(4) The KITAP referred to in paragraph (3) must be collected at the immigration office by the Guarantor, the Responsible Party, or the foreigner.
(5) The KITAP referred to in paragraph (4) must be collected within a maximum of 15 working days after the issuance of the ITAP .

Also from https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/web/visa-selection there is the following information that is repeated for all Visa/KITAS : "... you will automatically obtain the electronic limited stay permit (e-ITAS) and the Re-Entry Permit upon arrival ... In addition to the electronic limited stay permit, the limited stay permit also has a physical card available at the immigration office."

Around 1 year ago I got my (virtual) 5 years KITAP & IMK only from the sponsor's evisa account (no approval email).

Thanks , trying to contact The Banyuwangi office by any means other than going to the office is useless , 4 months of problems with a sponsor change and not one reply to any form of contact I tried . I'll see what the email says , the officer said it should take 5-7 days but have heard of it taking 2-3 weeks . Just seems a bit of an inconvenience having to carry an A4 copy of the Kitap with you if you don't use a Zombie phone .

And before somebody says the opposite, I got mine last week.


Just fold it in 4, 6, 8 in a plastic bag (think freezer bag) and in my back pocket. With the copy of passport and KTP.

Considering that these days with a KITAP you just go through the automatic gates at the airport, there is no need for either a card or the paper version.

So what ID is required with the automatic gates , haven't traveled out of Indonesia for 12 years and all this new technology, QR codes , digital Id etc is over my head .

OMG. Those gates are just a replacement for the Loket Imigrasi: Leaving or entering the country: passport. In the country: KTP. In practice you’ll never need (to show) the ITAP unless you’ve really done something naughty.

Yep. And that’s the difference between people having done it and those who collect and cite the law texts all the time without taking into account the practical situation.

I know a guy who went to Immigration to demand a card after 15 days since he read on the website of Immigration it should/would be available. They had a good laugh and sent him away.

That it what I did. Although I never plan on actually presenting it to anyone. All I ever use is my Pink KTP and everyone seems happy with it. If Immigration is asking, then they will have either have to accept the laminated card, a picture of my passport or wait for me to physically get the passport. I don't carry it around or a copy.

New Kitap and Multiple Entry Permit: No actual card for me, same like some other members here, reduce it as small as possible, but legible, print it, fold and put it in my passport's cover sleeve.

Re: Autogate at the airport..last time I entered, it was smooth. A couple weeks ago, I think they have a new thing called All Indonesia or something Indonesia that I wasn't sure who needed to fill...when i asked the wife...(as always she runs 3x as fast) said...no need, already got the bea cukai arrival, etc..etc.. okay, she says all good, I follow. Got to the Autogate, she got through..mine..red light all over. Moved to a different one, same thing (no issue in Singapore btw), so back to the manual kiosk, gave passport to the officer, he asked for the flight number, done in 20 seconds.

Bit like taking everything Google/AI say as gospel only to go to the office with the information and forms it provided and being told the forms are useless and the information is all bullshit .. Rules /laws are fine if everyone follows them but when an office and an officer stuff you around for 3 months with a sponsor change they insisted on because they didn't know the official rules /laws and used there own or old outdated rules /laws it can get beyond a joke . I was granted self sponsorship after my wife's death only to be told it was a system error and the sponsor change was my only option which caused multiple conflicts in there system . The director generals dept finally resolved the issue in 2 hours after I sent a complaint . Been back to the local office twice since and no sign of the smart arse officer that caused all the problems .

Same as SG MY DXB etc walk towards the egate. Passport face down. Walk through. Same coming back in our etc. Some now so advanced you don't even scan your pp it just scans your face. Depends.

And they all have online entry systems for customs 2-3 days ahead just log in and complete the online form it takes 52 seconds. All your data is saved from last time. Just put the flight number and arrival date. All of them send you some email thing. For customs etc. The IND also has a bar code to show the customs but SG MY etc is all inclusive the form covers entry and customs.
