Despite already having perhaps the best internet delivery in the world, Singapore is about to upgrade.
(Speed test index global) "Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) revealed plans to invest up to SGD100 million ($74.4 million) to upgrade its Nationwide Broadband Network (NBN) to prepare a stronger foundation to support rapidly emerging technologies.
IMDA stated the back-end network and front-end user equipment would be upgraded to deliver more symmetric end-to-end 10Gb/s connectivity, backed by 5G service and faster Wi-Fi networks.
The deployment is scheduled from mid-2024 to 2026. "

Disappointing to see Australia ranked at 95th position and Indonesia at 126.
Currently have a satellite delivered MNC package and enormously frustrating with fickle and often impossibly slow speeds. My laptop is just 2 metres away from the router.
I would have thought any information minister with half a brain would realize how critical it is for a country to have really good internet capacity for development. And with the proposed move of Indonesian government offices to Kalimantan unless this need is addressed I daresay there will be absolute chaos during the period of relocation. Australia is already committed to $360 billion for nuclear submarines and another 20 billion for navy frigates none of which will appear for maybe 10 years. Ignoring the need for immediate internet upgrade seems to me to be a crazy lack of sorting priorities. The relative costs are small compared with any kind of defence spending.
