I know this question is very difficult to answer but please, I need your opinion, we are planning to go to europe at the end august or beggining of september for medical reasons and stay there for three months probably.
I am looking tickets with singapore airlines, usually we flight with them, ¿what do you think? ¿better to wait a little bit or better to buy the tickets now?
From Denpasar to Barcelona there are tickets for 25.000.000 rp (although stop over in singapore almost 24 hours), even if we are no sure what day we will be back, probably it would be better to buy the tickets now and pay later the 2.250.000 rp if we need to change the tickets right?
We are three, hahaha and no rich, so we need to plan this carefully, beside probably the prices no way will go down right? probably the opposite. We are very flexible with the days to come back.
Terimakasi, have a nice afternoon

Of course buy them now. Then it's done. Booked. Confirmed. Paid. Otherwise in 3 months when it's all sold out and prices higher you will be crying.

As for the price just buy them. You might win you might lose. I doubt they will drop. If anything they will go up for summer and school etc.

Book pay now. All done. Get your seats. Your meals. All of it.

Would this work? If you bought tickets now and a rate that enables you to cancel and get a refund I wonder if nearer the departure date and prices had gone down could you cancel, get a refund at the full paid rate and then rebook if the market prices had seriously dropped?

Yes possible but extremely unlikely to make it worth while and $1,500 Bali to Spain return on SG is actually pretty damn cheap already.

I booked my flight to Europe early april, one week before departure. At the time of booking Finnair was €3.300 for a return flight to SUB, more than 4 x what I paid last year. Only a few ME airlines were in the €800 - €1.200 range (all with SUB - JAK PP Garuda).
So why not. My Emirates flight departed at the beginning of the current cease fire, so that was fine. We'll see next month. The ME may be in flames, or maybe they are the only ones with some kerosine left.

Just remember to factor in the extra costs of 3 people hanging around on a stopover for almost 24 hours too- airports can be expensive hangouts, or factor in a hotel fee so you can rest - again extra costs.
Use one of the middle eastern airlines if you feel brave enough :)
or take a look at air france/klm they will likely shave you hours off the Singapore airlines time but the ticket prices are similar.

Better a route from SG to Europe less chance of having to cancel then having to land or transit or fly over M/E
Just a thought
If your s/o really +24hr then yeh book a hotel now, at least thats done, you can regroup, pack etc and leave SG refresh, the lounge is awesome but J and F only and too mahal to book for a full day

Hi wait a moment. Where is my crystal ball. 😁😁😁.

The fuel price might be going down a few months later and the ticket price would follow. But I agree the return ticket to Europe for around US$1460 is already a good price. Also in your case, I believe the dates of travelling are not flexible e.g around Aug/ Sep this year because typically the health do not wait to deteriorate..

I have an unproven theory that if serious kerosene shortages occur in Europe—and that seems likely in the coming weeks—airlines with a hub in the Middle East could make return flights if they refuel their planes at their home base. In theory, this is possible because the distance allows it; in practice... well there are some drawbacks. We shall see.

Changi's much better than most in that respect:
But yeah a proper hotel would be much better.

The cheapest option is probably to go with Emirates, and hope that by September things are back to normal. In fact they pretty much are back to normal I think in terms of flights, but of course could flare up again at any time.
I went on Singapore Airlines this month which was okay but I think Emirates is better, plus 13 hours on one flight without any break is pretty brutal.

So DPS DXB to Spain in economy return on EK for $1,5000 ? Can get?

Yeh plenty of those sleep lounges in Changi but for a family of 3-4 for 24 hours will be very very expensive and honestly they are really bad. Noisy and crowded and very basic simple amenities. If you going to really spend then better to try a paid airline lounge but none of them do for 24hours.
If your s/o really that long then book a hotel at least you can sleep and hot shower and order McD or grab to the hotel lobby. Airports are ok if you in the premium lounge but for a family you better with a hotel room. They can sleep in the bed watch TV wander round the lobby etc.
