VPN and internet providers Batam

We moved to batam from Hakarta where our VPN router worked easily but in Batam it doesn’t get much bandwidth from the Telkomsel (indihome) Router. Does anyone else have or has fixed, the same problem? Am told the Telkimsel router does not easily work with secondary routers. Seems they are the only provider here? GIG in Jakarta work after just connecting.

I'm not a techie,

Is telcomsel interweb speed low or only low when the two routers don't cooperate? Why not simply use telcomsel?
