Traveling with Multi-national kids

Hi,

I'd like to take my kids (they are minors) on a trip overseas. The younger one has the new affidavit and card showing dual citizenship. The older one possesses an affidavit from before the system became computerized. According to immigration here, that is sufficient for both kids; however, given Immigration is often full of BS, I doubt their word.

I am sure my younger child can exit because of the card and affidavit but I am not sure about my older child being able to do so with just the old affidavit. I haven't been able to get any sort of answer about this issue so far from Immigration in Jakarta. Does anyone happen to know?

I'm not sure what card you are talking about as I have no such thing.

I only have my son's French passport as well as his affidavit (a simple piece of A4 paper with a photo stuck on it, the data, and a stamp from imigrasi).

I've traveled overseas with him on several occasions and it was fine.

He got his affidavit done in 2011 and the data on it show his old passport number which has expired since. Last month I traveled with him, I took both his old and new passport as well as his first and only affidavit. No problem at all.

As long as you have an affidavit, and a valid passport and visa (if necessary) valid for the country you intend to visit, you will be OK. If they have an Indonesian passport on top of their affidavit, make sure it acknowledges the dual citizenship with the proper stanmp.

I have been travelling with my kids, alone or with my Indonesian wife, without having any question asked. My kids got their affidavit years ago (in 2007 abd 2009) long before there was any new format.

What is the current requirement for a father who holds a foreign passport & is a spouse ITAP holder to travel outside of Indonesia with 2 minor children (ages 5 & 7 years, both hold foreign passports & Indonesian citizenship affidavit cards) but travel without the children's mother (wife of the father) who is an Indonesian citizen : is the mother/wife required to give her permission in a written statement, or in-person statement at airport on day of travel, in order for the minor children to depart & travel outside of Indonesia with their father?
