Does anyone know tokopedia's policy on returns? I looked through their terms and conditions but couldn't find anything which suggests that once it is delivered then too late or up to the seller. This is a shame as the pitfall of online shopping this that sometimes the item is just not right and you cant tell until you have it in your hands. I have got that ongoing right now with a relatively expensive item and the seller is refusing to accept it back or exchange it even for a lesser value item, despite me contacting them within 10 minutes of receiving it. Its not an issue of the goods being opened as the box arrived opened already.

I raised it as an issue with tokopedia but i suspect i will lose the argument and get stuck with an expensive paperweight. I know Amazon are very good at this sort of thing but i guess my expectactions with tokopedia are lower.

It depends on the reason. If it's because you changed your mind, then it's probably not going to happen.

If the goods aren't as described you probably will have a case.

I complained once when the item wasn't as described. I was offered to return the item but in this case the value was so low that it wasn't even worth my time going to JNE. But tokopedia did offer a refund of both the item and return fee.

Some sellers have no return/refund policy. Yes, it is up to the seller's goodwill if he will accept returns with refund or not. Let's get something straight tokopedia is not Amazon. As for opening a dispute with tokopedia the only experience I have was when the customer was impatient with delivery.

I think you can return anything you want....not that you will get anything back lol.
No I'm kidding I have no idea

Yes it is isn't it. Caveat emptor

I have an open complaint on the item with tokopedia and they seem to be taking my side as the package was open but haven't processed anything yet. Ive had a few other items that the seller always offered me to send back if i wasn't happy (i never did) but this seller is just being a d#ck. He knows that it was a mistake and that it is the wrong item for me but wont help at all. It costs more than a mill so worth it and i offered to accept less or an exchange but he wont budge even slightly. Anyway lets see if tokopedia help.

Just curious. How much will it cost you to send it back?

Almost nothing....maybe 20-30k. But if i send it and they don't accept it or there is no record? I don't mind paying to send it back and even losing out on a reasonable percentage as a hassle fee but this seller just flat out refuses. They are not even just an online shop...they have a physical shop too but the owner just refuses everything.

Don't finish your transaction if you haven't open, even you have receive the package. The fund will be hold by tokopedia, if the seller doesn't want to return, you just can claim to tokopedia for your money.

Hamrio i just received a message from tokopedia telling me they side with the seller and i should cancel the complaint (which i wont). Basically there is no return policy with Tokopedia at all.

I'm open to suggestions on what to try next, besides leaving a shitty review

How do you know if there is a return policy? I looked at the seller shop and nothing is mentioned.

It doesn't matter if there is anything mentioned on shop's policy about returns. Each product page should have "accepting returns" option. This is a new feature on tokopedia and not everyone is keen on enabling /doing it.

As for the shitty review remember it will backfire.
When it comes to the opened package you should insure it. Once the package was open you have to complaint to whoever was delivering your parcel not the seller.

Smallworld how will the review backfire? It is just stating the truth, including some choice names the seller is calling me on the chat.
Any other suggestion on a coarse of action or is this just a write off? To be honest it puts me off tokopedia and I will scale back my use of the site to only small cheap items.

Maybe in this case their can be no proof of who opened the package. In future if the package is obviously open then don't accept it from the courier?

Don't buy anything on line you can't afford to lose.

The seller will write similar "quality" review for you. Bad review for the seller = the same review for the customer. I would not mix "telling the truth" in a review as some sort justification or "the karma will hit him" ideology. From the third person's view "the truth" is kind of blurred. People say the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Few more things:
Every time when I send something by JNE, TIKI the girl who is accepting the parcel is examining it for any damage while searching for the address for eg. or while checking the weight. Sometimes (depends from the JNE, TIKI office) they will even suggest you to buy their envelope or other packaging. They also ask what is inside if it is something more valuable they offer insurance as an option.

You should ask the seller for any return options before committing purchase, warranty ect. most have 2-3-7 days returns on electronics. If returns are not mentioned in description and the total value of your shopping is high then I would ask the seller in a chat if they would accept the returns and what are the t&c, timing, damages ect.....you can send the same questions to other sellers. Then choose the one that suits you.
