"We are not in a trade war." So says Trump and his minions, but the Dow went down almost 600 points (2.34%) today.
The Stormy Affair is interesting tabloid news, but the real story that involves possible felonies is where that money came from. There's a good chance (link) that it came directly from campaign funds, and there's also a good chance it wasn't the only time Trump laundered money through the campaign. I hope that has become a part of Mueller's investigation, or perhaps he has just passed those findings on to the relevant State's Attorney Generals so they can prosecute Trump if he pardons himself from the federal crimes.
It's not about sex. To get a search warrant in these circumstances requires convincing a federal judge that credible evidence of criminal activity will be found and there is no other way to secure the evidence.
A key legal issue at the heart of the Cohen raid is whether the hush money payment to Stormy Daniels constituted a violation of Federal Election Law, since it was intended to influence the outcome of the election. If so, this would be a felony and Cohen likely disbarred at a minimum and potentially jailed. If Dumpster knew about it or (please, please, please) authorized or even better ordered it, which could be established by the seized emails, then he could be on the hook as well. It's explained here: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/do...be-election-law-violation-say-experts-n855336
One other thing: Cohen said he used a home equity loan to pay off Stormy Daniels. If he lied to the bank about the purpose of the loan, he could also be guilty of bank fraud, so he's looking at up to 30 years on that count alone... Couldn't happen to a nicer guy though.
My clearer understanding, from the news reports, is this is to investigate money transactions that Trump's lawyer may have illegally conducted on Trump's behalf.
The Trump apologists want to combine the two and blame Meuller..... but it's obvious he just passed on information of a possible crime by Trump's lawyer as any citizen would be obliged to do under law. This has nothing to do with the Russian investigation.
Trump is seen at a meeting with his arms crossed in a 'reality-show' of anger dishing all those who are against him as a biased witch-hunt....yet nearly all the participants are Republicans or appointees by Trump himself.
Also a brand new missile was used today. Could be following the same strategy as Russians by putting on display the new hardware for potential buyers.
I could be wrong, but don't think the USA is likely to sell its latest military technology, the key word being "latest.". Still, it is common knowledge that our generals are always looking for opportunities to test their new devices under actual battlefield condition.
