I ordered Bintang bottles the other night at a bar and they brought them to me one after another.

I love it when that happens.

I'm actually going to give a shout out to the local Kecamatan and Catatan Sipil. Because of the snafu with the e-KTP situation, they have been working literally 7 days a week to meet the demand of KTP to e-KTP conversion. At some point, the Kecamatan offices were open until midnight to get the bio-data for e-KTP.

Can you imagine government workers anywhere else in the world working those kind of hours for a foul-up the central government made? There would be rioting.

I wish I could say something nice about Telcom, but I cannot, sorry. Mind I would like to recommend our garden odd job man, he does the RT mans job as the the RT man is useless and suffers from an excess of alcohol and spends a lot of time gambling, anyway our man is processing my KTP, among his other jobs he ran the kids football team, got them nice shirts too, he also ran the kids Pecak Silat, sadly had a motor bike mishap so had to give that up, he arranged for our RT to have dustbins and arranged for the rubbish to be collected, he also arrange when the D,diamond complex redid their main road that the old bricks not used were used on our muddy lane, he also goes round Jakarta with his Ondel Ondel, if anyone has a problem they go to him, sadly he never had proper schooling, so cannot be RT man, but it's a shame there aren't more men like him in Indonesia, they do exist but hard to find

I've found my standards for good service have declined drastically over the last decade. Before, people going above and beyond constituted good service - now it's just when things go according to plan - or when things don't get messed up.

Having beer in them was a real bonus, yep. First one went down rather quickly. After that, I'm a slow drinker.
