Stone the crows. How will this go down in Bali?

A serious issue for the future of Indonesia is the ever expanding activities of the military elite supported by a sympathetic former general. Opening the door for futher enrichment opportunities for the military in Bali might not go down too well with the locals.

Employing army personnel for specific tasks such as the waste issue could be managed but having total military management of the island is another thing entirely.

This is a part where military involment would be beneficial.
Governor removed by the President, administrator appointed, militay executes. 1 year probably all done, and after that elections again.
Due to local government incompetence, the majority of tourism is endangered, which is national emergency (Bali tourism is basically the whole foreign tourism Indonesia has).

Time to bring out the incinerator man @Wisnu . Your project did not gain the traction it deserved on this forum, how is it going?
Well, both the incinerator and the DIY smoke scrubber worked well for a while. After only six uses, the aluminum hose connecting the chimney to the smoke scrubber couldn't withstand the heat of the smoke coming out of the incinerator.
Currently, limited use to burn pest infected plants from my garden.
Interestingly, someone came to see me. He was one of people managing household waste collection center in Denpasar and sent it to TPA. With the planned closure of the Suwung Landfill, he needed a quick solution and was considering using an incinerator like the one I'd used. Unfortunately, cost constraints, along with a government ban on incinerators shortly afterward, made this plan unfeasible.

I still don’t see how the military would have expertise that people who manage municipal waste professionally don’t. Granted they should be cheaper.
A year is very, probably unrealistically, optimistic. With Bali’s small size and space demands from infrastructure and tourism it would probably take a year to plan a solution and another for site acquisition and preparation.

Just be aware, typically mini incinerators for used in individual household is banned in Indonesia. 'TEMU' sell a lot of this type of incinerators for all sizes, interested ??:oops::oops:

If it is to be done properly, it would require a large scale Waste-to-Energy (WtE) incineration systems; technology originally developed in Sweden and now used globally, including in Singapore. Waste-to-Energy (WtE) incinerators require regular maintenance, mainly filter replacement, along with other operational cost and part replacement.

Unless it is a state, big corporations sponsored, which individuals could realistically afford the cost of installing and maintaining such facilities over the long term?
