Let's see in what kind of status' of residence we are here... Please add if / when I forgot something.

I am retired with a Kitap sponsered by my wife. I think you have to add something

To me a Kitap "permanent stay permit card" is not a visa.

You are correct...pedantically it is a stay permit.
However, if I'm at a foreign airport and they ask for my visa to show I can enter Indonesia without a return ticket I don't argue that point....and show them my Itap/Kitap.

KITAP, with wife, but that should be a seperate choice to Sosbud so I haven't checked anything

That's a tough one for me -- the majority of my time in Indonesia has been with my own KITAS as an employee for an international company. But for the last couple of years I've been a dependent on my husband's visa. And I just executed an EPO so I could ship stuff out of the country, so now I'm on a VOA. In about 3 weeks, I leave the country and will no longer be resident in Indonesia in any way.

So, "facing future," as the phrase goes, I chose "not living in Indonesia." That feels pretty weird.

I think it might have been a cuter thread without the selection box on top.
You could have just asked us to post what status we have.

As in making some discussion on a forum for discussion lol...

I have a spouse sponsored permanent resident status.

Tough crowd.....Looks like this poll might be 'finished'.....:pound:

Indonesian

Absolutely! Now I'm mad at myself because I did not instantly spot that omission. Hey, I have an excuse - I'm in the hospital coming down from all the drugs they gave me today. (Surgery was uncomplicated, and so far nothing hurts. Yay.) If I had been in my right mind I would have noticed immediately.

Of course I have not been in my right mind for years. Sigh.

I'm just a TKI, working hard for sesuap nasi.

I have added "Indonesian" as an option, and separated Spousal KITAS/KITAP from Sosbud. Also enabled switching votes, so you could switch if you already voted a previous option but want to change it.

Currently living and working in US, but planning to retire on Spousal KITAS/KITAP. Wife has maintained her Indonesian citizenship, so shouldn't be too difficult. An acquaintance of mine in Solo, said it's probably easier than getting a root canal.

Root canals these days are, for the most part, painless; only time consuming and annoying. Pretty good analogy, don't you think?

So true. I ended up with a number of these one-liners, from hanging out in taverns with Aussies expressing various unhindered wisdom about Indonesia.

Initially, I was hired by an international holding company and posted to their Indonesian subsidiary company. So it could neither be the first or second choice. But since years ago, I owned the Indonesian company and worked for it too (company-sponsored KITAP). Therefore, I have to pick the third one now, “Private entrepreneur”.
