Spouse ability to cancel spouse-sponsored KITAS

Greetings all.

Interested to know what the rules are if you and your Indonesian spouse have a fall-out / separation and they are your sponsor here. Can he/she cancel the KITAS without having your passport? Presumably then you would have only 7 days (EPO time) to get out. Would immigration inform you of this? If so, how? I looked on other forums, but most are only concerned with what happens in the event of divorce. But what about massive issues that occur prior to divorce? Can the foreigner be booted out with little, if any, notice?

It is my understanding that the wife's roll in all the immigration requirements is that of the sponsor to the visa holder. All Indonesian Visas need a sponsor of some type except limited tourist types. If kitas or kitap for an expat with an Indonesian spouse, than the wife would be the sponsor and as such garranteeing the government that they, the Indonesian is taking responsibility for the expat.

A sponsor of any kind may withdraw said sponsorship and immigration issue an EPO and the expat will have 7 days to either exit or apply for a different visa with a new sponsor. Such as a Sosbid visa. Exit does not mean back to their home nation, just out of Indonesia.

Indeed, but is it possible without them having the passport? Every time in the past when I was on a work KITAS, I had to give them my passport for several days to complete the EPO.
Secondly, is it possible for a foreigner to request EPO him/herself without the sponsor/spouse?

A sponsorship has nothing to do with your passport. They are on record of sponsoring you and can withdraw that sponship leaving you sponsorless. Immigration already has all your information on hand. She will only have to prove she is in fact the person listed as the sponsor. A simple producing her KTP will be sufficient.
