So who's here

Yay, nice to see you made it pony... at last :)

I think I only had a couple dozen posts on the old one, and didn't see the drama unfurl, but the community looks to be thriving here so I'm happy to be here as well.

Welcome back to our community R Cameron.

Hey
I missed all the drama! Bloody hell.

I also miss it by quite far. I was quite disconnected of the social internet in the last couple of month.

Already couple of day I'm here, the ambiance I find here remember me of the one I find in the other one 5 year ago... and I already can see bad habit rising up and checking more than enough for new post here.

Today I give a go to someting I want do since a while and always push back to later: creating a copy of all the post I write about my life (kind of blog) on the other forum.
Its quite a good resume of my time in Indonesia. I take only the "blog type" not the conversation

I just finish it. It take me many hour for copying all this. It's a huge 75 pages in small font size (10) and narow margin = 44 107 words
**by reading my old post... I'm glad my english have quite improve in those last year :) **

I will not do the same here as I'm no more in Indonesia and it would feel strange. But I will definitively stick around.

When the old site was "healthy" over a year ago, i would check in many times a day. Then it became many times a week, recently a couple of times a month.

Now with the new refreshed and rejuvenated forum here, I am back to many times a day.

I'm here but I didn't use the Living in Indonesia forum for at least a couple of years and then all of a sudden I started getting emails saying there was a new post in my channel subscription so I started looking at it.

When I noticed Atlantis was banned I did a search and found this forum so I hope to be a bit more active while I'm in England at least. When I'm in Indo it will be a lot more difficult because no internet connection where I am (Togian Islands) but hope that will change in the next couple of years.

If I started getting emails because of the new system coming in it seems a bit ironic that the new system being used for the Living in Indonesia forum has resulted in me ending up here !

Marcus and Atlantis were extremely helpful when I had a few questions before so even though Marcus may not be here I'd like to thank both of them plus anyone else who has offered advice to me in the past

Anyone heard from or know the whereabouts of John Tapp? ... I for 1 miss your posting style Tappy

Bedbug bites feel like being eaten alive (by something you can't see) and they leave a red rash-like track across your skin where they've been biting ... unfortunately, I know more about them than I would ever want to ... spraying suitcases / luggage before and after traveling with something either specifically for bedbugs or even just lavender or cinnamon / clove mixed with water is a good precaution.

If you're sure it's not bedbugs or spiders ... well, the garlic may come in handy ... and you might want to sharpen some wooden stakes:

(edit) It's the same with me and my wife ... I get bit and bled all the time by nyamuk and all kinds of things, she says they almost never bother her at all ... SHE says it's because my blood is sweet ... and corrupted by all kinds of unhealthy dietary habits and putting bad things in my body ... so they like my "dirty blood". She's probably right ...

Yep bed bugs bites will leave red, itchy rashes or bumps ( https://authorityremedies.com/how-to-get-rid-of-bed-bug-bites/ )
Have you figure out what it was?

Use Permethrin on non hairly areas like handpalms, inside of the arms, etc. Sold here under the brand name Scabimite salep. (From Dutch word zalf.) But it's rather expensive, 100K for bigger tube.
