Posting on behalf of a friend who sent me her lawyers quote for Changing form KITAS to KITAP. It comes in at 42.5 juta per person (they are a couple) The quote includes the KITAP, IMTA, MERP & RPKTA.

I have searched the forum so have an idea of what RPTKA is but can anyone advise of the associated costs? I am directing my friend to your visa fees page for the other items.

The extra worry is that although the quote includes the IMTA the lawyer then goes on to say that in addition they must bay the $1200 annual fee to Manpower. Isn't that the IMTA?

Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, an IMTA is a work permit, and the company is responsible to pay the $1200 per year, I'm also pretty sure that the RPKTA is for companies to submit and pay for hiring expats.

It sounds strange to me, because I thought KITAP holders do not need a work permit...

They have a company and are directors so the IMTAs are paid for by them for themselves. They are currently on KITAS and converting to KITAP. The agent charges has been charging them 9.5 juta per person for KITAS and justified the cost by saying it is cheaper than 5x9.5 yearly charge.

So maybe the RPTKA is for their company to submit to employ them. Still would like to know what costs are involved if anyone knows.

Either way I agree with Anglian that they need to find a new agent.

Make sure all your documents are complete before you consider other agent offer. I noticed some of them don't play fair perhaps to "keep their customers base" by not giving you some documents back. They will say: You don't need it, we will do it later on, we need this document which it is hard or impossible to get ect...Chasing them with many phone calls and asking for updates, ETA ect.... not worth 42 jt. They charge you an arm & leg with prices from developed countries while in exchange giving back lousy customer service. At least from my experience. But the advantage is "they will do it". The disadvantage outargues costs - perhaps they look at their immigration agents in AU and their fees, very long time to process it?

I would urge your friends do the whole process by themselves if they are ok with it. Just make sure you have all documents needed complete. Give it a try... you can always give up and outsource to the agent if they don't feel comfortable to do it.
So far I managed do to KK, KTP OA, SIM + prolonging, MERP prolonging, my next goal is to do my 2nd KITAP by myself.
If you need to wait in a long queue use driver/staff to wait and keep your place, he/she can also pick up your documents.

But don't forget if you do it yourself, the only amount you save is the actual agent's fee, you still have to pay all the other things and go back and forth several times, queuing, traffic etc etc which is why most people get an agent. A decent agent should be only 10jt or less and yes while it is "easy" to do it yourself, it is just the hassle and time wasted doing it., hence why most people just suck it up and pay the agent to do it. Plus with agents it can be quicker because they usually have relationship with the immigration people, example my agent has the numbered queue ticket before I am there, so I can usually just turn up and I am next in the queue for the photo, fingerprints etc. If you do it yourself, and you pick a bad day, you could be in the queue for a long time. Anyway some people like to do it themselves, yes it is straighfoward, but it is really only the time wasted that puts people off. Adding on the macet factor too can also be annoying, even just from Mega Kuningan to Buncit can be 30-45mins each way plus the time there, so thats almost a morning gone.

Prior to be issued an IMTA, an employer must submit for approval a RTPKA which is a summary of the company's needs in terms of foreign workers, functions they (the foreigners) will have in the company, Experience and credential of said TKA, place(s) of work, number and credential of the TKI associated to the TKA...etc. Basically it is the first step to get an IMTA issued.

The IMTA is the document issued authorizing a company to employ a foreign worker, on the basis of what has been declared in the RPTKA.

The DPKK is the USD 1200 paid to the government for the whole procedure. This is a fee which, theoretically, should be use to train TKI. Theory is always a nice thing.

There is no fee per se for the RPTKA or the IMTA. Only the DPKK. What the agent means by including it in his calculation is the work, time (and bribe?) to fill the forms and get these documents issued.

My friends wont be doing it themselves they will need an agent but I hadn't considered that the existing agent could make it difficult for them. Earlier I suggested they ask for a break down of the expenses. Maybe their best bet is to get the existing agent to reduce her fees. (I was mistaken in thinking it was their lawyer, it is a visa agent) 42.5 juta per person is extortionate!

Thank you everyone for your input.

This is what my agent charges, discount the sponsor fee if your company is paying, thats for people who dont actually have a company as such to employ them, if that makes sense. But the process fee is her fee

btw since last year for men, you must wear a tie in the photo with the red background for the imta thingy

this also includes if you want / need the npwp tax card
if you dont need a sponsor company or a tax card then you can deduct that - but all those charges you have to pay anyway, the process fee of 10jt is what my agent charges anyway and she is very good, also the agent in singapore did my imta telex in 5 hours, all in for S$260, passport to him at 10, got it back at 3

New calculation for KITAS 12 bulan

Description KITAS 12 months (Regular Fee)

Sponsor Fee 15,000,000
KITAS process Fee 10,000,000
DPKK / Tax to Manpower 16,200,000 (depend on the conversion rate) USD. 1,200 x IDR. 13.500
BPJS per year 4,800,000 IDR. 400.000 x 12 months
NPWP / Tax Salary per year 24,300,000 If your salary USD. 1.500 x IDR. 13.500 X 10% : 12 months
Notary Fee 3,500,000
73,800,000

1500 USD (min. Salary as a Director base on Manpower rule)
13,500
20,250,000
10%
2,025,000
12
24,300,000

Wow I thought 42. 5 million was rather a lot, but 42.5 mil per person does seem rather greedy to put it mildly

Well, they should check if the invoice has not been quoted in Vietnamese Dong. Would make it "only" around 20 millions of our rupiah. :)

I paid an agent 2.8 juta to process the RPTKA and IMTA for my representative office. I was then able to process everything for the KITAS on my own since the entire process is online now. PM me and I will share that agent's information if you like.

Thanks everyone. I will share this with my friend and I hope it will help. Kiperto I will suggest she contacts you too thanks for your offer!
