Renewal KITAP MERP

Maybe someone can help. I have first KITAP, expiring in Feb 2021, with MERP expiring in Feb 2018. I have been out of Indonesia for 6 months, returning this September for 5 weeks, then exiting again with plans to return in March 2018. Of course my MERP will have expired by that time so to avoid cancellation of my KITAP my question is can I renew my MERP this September, about 5 months earlier? Any advice is appreciated.

I thought I'd piggyback on this thread, regarding my first 2 yr MERP renewal on my KITAP.

My wife was at immigrasi today getting info on renewing our daughter's passport. She decided to get the paperwork for my 2 year MERP.

Bandung imigrasi says I'm now required to have a KTP and KK for the MERP renewal. Luckily it's a few months before I need it, but I was a bit surprised.

They even provided an example of a Dutch guys KTP and KK.

I also went to Bandung Imigrasi today and was told the same. I have photocopied all the peraturan for my rt/rw "team" as they say I don't need ktp OA and KK as this is only for Indonesian?!
My next step would be disdukcapil. I am also renewing my MERP on first KITAP. I have been also shown an example of KTP OA.

I was told that yes you can renew your MERP way before it will expiry the immigration officer even encourage us to do so if we know we will be living abroad for a while or we know we won't be able to come to Indonesia soon.

They are quoting for Kitap UU no. 23, Thn 2006 Ttg administrasi Kependudukan Pasal 21 for Kitap.

I asked my agent and my agent replied that it can only be renewed 1 month before the expiry date.
Also the renewal is for two years from the date of renewal.

Can't you bypass the agent & just go direct to kanIm & ask them?

This is not what I was told in immigration. You better go by yourself to KANIM and ask. I would not be surprised if the agent was wrong. I am not going to trust any agent anymore. You can renew it (MERP) anytime you want the immigration officer told me. Yes, the renewal is 2 years from the date of renewal and the previous MERP if there is any time left on it will be cancelled.

Just got mine renewed in Tangerang. KITAP, KK, Sponsor letter and Passport only. 5 working days. 1.8 juta for 2 year MERP. Very easy indeed!

Jakarta Pusat (the jalan angkasa one). I did use an agent (sorry...) but the agent did not even ask for KTP...only asking for passport, KITAP and surat sponsor. I offered him a copy of KK for proof of domisili.

My wife just finished getting my KTP and and KK here in Bandung. Getting all the different forms was a pain, but got these back quick (3-4 days) once the forms were dropped off at catapan civil.

Hey guys,

Quick question please.
My MERP is expiring in April 18. I'm planing to renew my MERP for another 2 yrs as I plan to go overseas for 1 yr in Jan 18. As per Smallworld's post, I can renew my MERP before I leave. Do I have to renew this in KANIM as per my sponsor's KTP? Or can this be done in any KANIM now?

My KITAP expires in April 2018, I just renewed my MERP, they wouldn’t give me a two year one, it’s only valid till the expiry date of my KITAP
