Hi! I'm currently living in Sweden, and my dream is to relocate to Indonesia. I'd love to find an office job there and eventually build a life in the country.

I was wondering if it's possible for a foreigner like me to find office work in Indonesia. Where should I start looking, and what would be the best way to find a job there?

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Theoretically only legally possible if you have a skill that Indonesians don't have .

And to make it even more difficult , the salaries of Indonesian workers are very small (see here https://www.bps.go.id/en/statistics-table/2/MTUyMSMy/average-of-net-wage-) , and there are so many without job .

Work Regulation PP no.34 Year 2021 - free translation
Every employer must prioritize the use of Indonesian workers in all types of available positions.
Foreigners can only be employed by 'big companies' in a working relationship for a certain position and a certain time, and must be qualified for the position to be occupied.
Employers of foreign workers are prohibited from employing foreigners in human resources department and other positions to be defined.

b. any person who ordered or provide opportunity for the foreigner to misuse or engage in activities inconsistent with the intent or purpose of the Visa/Stay Permit given to the foreigner.

... my dream is to relocate to Indonesia ...

If you cannot get a job under the above restrictions , you still have the option to work informally if you marry an Indonesian .

For example , you could work informally in your Indonesian spouse's small business .

Like what Marcus has said - you need to have a special skill to get a work permit in Indonesia.
It's important to remember that there are nearly 300 millions indonesians so they have a lot of people who have skills and who need jobs.
If you have a particular speciality that is desirable in indonesia you need to be recognized as an expert - so they are importing your skills, which they can't find locally.
There are millions of office workers here looking for jobs - so you are not really standing out right now.

Many foreigners come here to teach - this is one of the easier routes in because the international schools need overseas staff. But you would need a teaching degree (or at least a related degree with some recognized teacher training/ experience) and experience to get one of those jobs - they are snapped up usually.

Haters gonna hate but don't bother with Jakarta, even if you find a job it will be rubbish salary and the life here is not great, traffic, pollution,, floods, too much corruption, yeh sure some will disagree but you have never even been here, it takes a long time to understand how it works

Honestly there are now much better Asian options, why not China, Vietnam, Taiwan? HK and Singapore very expensive. Sweden has had a close tie with Thailand for years also.

But if you could choose anywhere in Asia then Jakarta would not be top of the list for sure. Even Japan with its language difficulties would be better

Remember the Indonesia on TV ads is not Jakarta, it shows tropical islands and beaches, Jakarta is a total chaos dirty city and don't think cheap beautiful girls waiting for you with open arms either,
